Wayne, NJ: The Ramapo College baseball team belted out 14 hits in a 10-1 NJAC road win over William Paterson University this afternoon. The Roadrunners improve to 21-11 overall and 6-5 in the NJAC while the Pioneers now stand at 19-10 on the year and 6-5 in the conference.

Ramapo would score all the runs they would need in the top of the third inning as they put up eight runs on six hits. Austin Unglaub drove home the first run of the game with an RBI single scoring Matt Chemis before the bases were loaded with one out. A hit by pitch and back-to-back walks forced home three more runs as the Roadrunners pushed the score 4-0. Nick Camilleri then drove home two more runs with a single to left field before Ryan MacNaughton plated Vincenzo Sita with a sac fly. Chemis then stepped to the plate for the second time in the inning and singled home Camilleri to extend the lead 8-0.

In the top of the fourth inning Ramapo added one run when Sita drove home Connor Walsh with a double 9-0. WPU got on the board in the bottom half of the inning when Carlos Perez recorded a leadoff double and later scored on a wild pitch 9-1. The Roadrunners added their tenth run of the game in the fifth inning when Maugeri drove home Chemis with a RBI single 10-1.

Ramapo starting pitcher Jerry D'Andrea (5-3) worked seven innings with nine strikeouts, four walks and scattered just three WPU hits. Jeff Millet entered the game in relief in the top of the eighth inning. He struck out two and surrendered just one hit in the final two innings of work.

Camilleri finished 3-4 with two RBI and one run scored while Chemis also collected three hits in the game with two runs scored and one RBI. Sita finished 2-3 with one run scored and two RBI. Maugeri finished 2-5, including his 100th career hit as a Roadrunner in the third inning.

The Roadrunners return to action tomorrow at Jeff Maund Field when they host Rutgers-Newark University at 11:30am in a NJAC conference doubleheader. Ramapo will honor their senior class in a ceremony prior to the start of the second game.
