OFFENSE LEADS RAMAPO TO NINTH STRAIGHT WIN

Reading, PA: The Ramapo College baseball team won their ninth straight game today with a 10-7 road win over Albright College in non-conference action. The Roadrunners earn their 25th win of the season and now stand at 25-11 overall while the Lions drop to 11-17 overall.

Nick Recarte (4-1) earned the win on the mound with eight strikeouts while he scattered two hits in six innings of work. Tyler Lombardo earned his first save of the season as he went the final three innings. He surrendered seven hits, five runs while he struck out three and walked one.

At the plate the Roadrunners pounded out 12 hits in the game including home runs from Connor Walsh, Vincenzo Sita and Ryan MacNaughton.

Albright got on the board in the bottom of the first inning with two runs before Ramapo came back with one run in the second and three runs in the third for a 4-2 lead. Matt Carovillano laced a RBI double down the left field line allowing Liam Duffy to score for Ramapo's first run of the game in the second inning. In the third inning Ryan MacNaughton connected on his first home run of the season, a three-run shot over the left field fence as Walsh and Bobby Shannon scored.

Ramapo added three runs in the sixth inning all with two outs. Walsh and Sita hit back-to-back home runs. Walsh connected on a two-run home run as Joe Maugeri scored while Sita connected on his team leading third home run of the season, a solo shot to extend the lead 10-2.

The Lions scored two in the eighth and three in the bottom of the ninth but the Roadrunners held on for a key non-conference victory on the road 10-7.

Walsh finished 2-3 with two runs scored and three RBI while MacNaughton finished 2-4 with one run scored and three RBI. Carovillano and Maugeri each finished 2-4 in the game.

The Roadrunners return to action on Thursday, April 26th when they travel to NJAC rival Montclair State University for the first game of the home-and-home series at 3:30pm.
