ROCHESTER, N.Y. (April 30, 2018)  – Stevens Institute of Technology Baseball swept the Empire 8 Conference weekly awards as junior Donny Gherardi was named Player of the Week and senior Quinn DiPasquale was named Pitcher of the Week, the league office announced Monday. It's the first time a single institution has swept the league's weekly honors this season.

Gherardi collected his first career weekly accolade after hitting .538 (7-for-13) with a double, three RBI, three runs scored and a stolen base as Stevens swept Utica to secure the program's first Empire 8 regular season title. The junior leftfielder drew two walks to conclude the week with a .600 on-base percentage, while finishing with a .615 slugging percentage. The Oradell, New Jersey native ranks among the conference leaders in slugging percentage, on-base percentage, runs scored and RBI.

DiPasquale earned his second pitcher of the week honor of 2018 after a dominating performance in Sunday's regular season title-clinching victory. The right-hander struck out 12 and allowed just a fourth-inning double to post his first career shutout. DiPasquale is third in the conference in strikeouts and opponents are just hitting .213 against the Chelmsford, Massachusetts native, which is the lowest mark against any starter in the conference this season.

Up Next: Stevens travels to Pennsylvania for a non-conference game against the University of Scranton on Tuesday, May 1.
