Senior baseball pitcher Stephen Pinarski represented Manchester University on the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference's Athlete of the Week release for the period of April 30-May 6.
The Goshen, Ind., native was tabbed Pitcher of the Week, the first such accolade of the season for the Spartans. When it was needed most, he delivered one of the top starts of his career for the Black and Gold May 6. He struck out 10, a new single-game career personal best and equaling an individual season-high while allowing only five singles and surrendering two walks. His effort allowed MU (19-20 overall, 9-8 HCAC) to top league stalwart pitcher Walter Talcott by a 3-0 count and lock up the fourth seed to the 2018 conference tournament.
