READING, Pa. — The Keuka College Baseball team lost on Friday to top-seeded Penn St.-Berks by the score of 16-0 in the second round of the North Eastern Athletic Conference Baseball Tournament.

Keuka College (19-16) will drop to the consolation bracket. Sophomore Anthony Mashewske (Newark, N.Y. / Newark) provided a multi-hit day for the Wolves and Dan Bamann (Rochester, N.Y. / Irondequoit) added a double.

Penn St.-Berks 16 vs. Keuka College 0 – NEAC Second Round

The Green and Gold were able to threaten first, as Dan Bamann hit a two-out double in the top of the first inning. He would be stranded and the Nittany Lions took the lead in the bottom of the frame with a two-run home run.

In the second, Anthony Mashewske singled and stole second, but he too would be left on base. Berks added to their lead with a run in the bottom of the second to make it 3-0.

Keuka College threatened in the third as John Rizzo (Auburn, N.Y. / Auburn) walked and Dakota Skinner (Waverly, N.Y. / Tioga) singled. The duo advanced on an error to give Keuka College runners at second and third with one out. The Penn St.-Berks pitcher would induce a pair of fly outs to escape the inning and keep Keuka College off the board.

The Nittany Lions would add to their lead with four runs in the third inning and three more in the fifth for a 10-0 advantage.

Keuka College would load the bases in the sixth with two outs. Kyle Colegrove (Elkland, Pa. / Williamson) and Jake Redding (Victor, N.Y. / Victor) would add to a Mashewske walk, but a strikeout would end the inning for Keuka College. Penn St.-Berks would add six runs over the remaining innings to defeat Keuka College 16-0 on Friday.

• Keuka College is now 15-16 all-time against Penn St.-Berks but 0-4 against the Nittany Lions in the NEAC Tournament
• The Wolves are 2-7 all-time in the opening game of the NEAC Final Four. Keuka College has a 10-17 record overall in the NEAC Tournament.
• The game was the 128th of John Rizzo's career, passing Dave Pietraszek '04 for the most in Keuka College history
• Both Rizzo and Dakota Skinner had a hit in the game. The duo moved into a tie with Billy McDermott '16 for fourth on the Keuka College career hits list with 124.
• The double by Dan Bamann was the 20th of his career

Up Next for Keuka College: The Wolves drop to the consolation bracket in the North Eastern Athletic Conference Tournament. Keuka College will face Penn St.-Abington at 9am on Saturday morning. The Wolves split their regular season doubleheader with the Nittany Lions a week ago.
