No. 14 Keystone Earns Wins Over Loras & Montclair State

AUBURNDALE, Fla. - The No. 14 Keystone College baseball program earned a 12-11 walk-off win over previously-undefeated Loras College in 11 innings before taking down Montclair State 5-3 on Monday.

The Giants (2-1) face No. 7 UMass Boston (1-3) tomorrow at 9:45 a.m. Loras drops to 4-1 on the year while Montclair State moves to 3-2.

Keystone 12, Loras 11 (11 innings)

Freshman Chris Hadsall ripped a walk-off double to left field to score senior Chris Panzarella in the 11th frame to defeat the Duhawks.

Overall, the Giants pounded out 22 hits in the extra-inning affair as Panzarella and junior Nick Carlini both finished 4-for-6. Carlini blasted a solo shot to left in the fourth and picked up RBI singles in the fifth and sixth frames.

Panzarella scored four runs, including the game-winner.

Senior Dakota McFadden finished 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored and senior Johann Paniagua went 3-for-5 while junior Ryan Callahan enjoyed a 3-for-6 day. Senior Mohammed Hussein went 3-for-7 at the leadoff spot.

Junior Jared Rowley earned the starting nod and went four frames, fanning two. Junior Evan Plante hurled three frames in relief, with one strikeout, while junior Ramon Disla tossed one scoreless inning. Hussein was credited with the victory, tossing three innings while striking out two.

Keystone 5, Montclair State 3

The Giants jumped out to a 5-0 lead after four innings, thanks to three RBI from McFadden and run-scoring singles from Carlini and Panzarella.

Keystone finished with 13 hits, as Hussein and Panzarella both tallied three base knocks each. McFadden finished 2-for-3 while Carlini and junior Joe Fichera notched two hits apiece.

Senior Christopher Adams got the starting nod and tossed five quality innings, scattering six hits while striking out three for the win. Freshman Jordan Montes threw the final four scoreless innings, allowing just one hit with six strikeouts, to earn the save.
