No. 17 Giants Fall to No. 25 Wheaton (Mass.) 7-4

AUBURNDALE, Fla. - Junior Joe Fichera went 2-for-3 and senior Dakota McFadden finished with two RBI but the No. 17 Keystone College baseball program fell to No. 25 Wheaton (Mass.) 7-4 on Saturday afternoon at the RussMatt Invitational.

With the defeat, the Giants fall to 3-4 overall and will conclude their trip in Florida with a contest against Division-I Bradley University tomorrow at 4 p.m. The Lyons improve to 6-3 on the year.

Keystone fell behind 2-0 after one inning of play but knotted the game up at 2-2 in the third thanks to a two-run single to center by McFadden, scoring senior Anthony Ferezza and junior Adam Kelly.

Trailing 3-2 in the sixth, senior Johann Paniagua roped a double to left center, scoring senior Chris Panzarella, to tie the game at 3-3. Senior Ronald Medina followed with an RBI single to right center to score Paniagua, as the Giants went ahead for the first time, 4-3.

Unfortunately, the Lyons answered with an RBI triple in the sixth and a three-run blast in the eighth to hand Keystone the 7-4 loss.

Junior Jared Rowley earned the start on Saturday, and went three innings, striking out four while allowing just one hit. Senior Christopher Adams suffered the defeat, tossing the final five frames,striking out three while forcing eight flyouts and four groundouts.
