More news about: Adrian

FREELAND, Mich.--For the second straight week, Adrian College Baseball earned the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Pitcher of the Week award as junior right-hander Pierce Banks (Sterling Heights, Mich. / Parkway Christian High School) is the recipient for the seven-day period ending Sunday. The MIAA office made that announcement on Monday.

Banks worked seven terrific innings to power Adrian to a 12-1 non-conference victory over host Berry, snapping the Vikings' five-game winning streak as part of a 14-6 start to the season. He improved to 2-0 after allowing five hits, a walk and a run with six strikeouts. He threw 96 pitches, 61 for strikeouts. He moved into a three-way 10th-place tie on the school's all-time victories list with 17 (17-3).

The exercise science major also was named the MIAA Pitcher of the Week on April 10, 2017.
