DANVILLE, Ky. - The Sewanee baseball team completed a Southern Athletic Association series win over the Colonels of Centre College, 6-5, Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Tigers recorded a first inning run with an RBI base hit.
-In the fifth, Sewanee made it a 2-0 lead thanks to a Chris McNulty sacrifice fly.
-The Purple and Gold broke it open in the sixth inning with a three-run frame. With runners at the corners with one out, Josh Roberts recorded an RBI groundout.
-The next batter, Riley Brandvold recorded an RBI base knock to left field.
-Later in the inning, McNulty posted an RBI single.
-Sewanee tacked on a run in the seventh with an RBI groundout with a Carter Huffman RBI groundout.
-Meanwhile, on defense, Trey Holland was cruising along in his start, retiring the first 18 batters he faced. In the bottom half of the seventh, the perfect game bid ended on a lead off double by Will Kirk. The shutout also ended later in the inning, as the home team scored four runs in the frame.
-Centre scored one run in the bottom of the ninth, and they had the tying run at third base. However, the runner was left stranded on a fly out to secure the series victory for the Tigers.
SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS
-Trey Akins recorded three singles and a double for a perfect 4-for-4 day with an RBI.
-Chris McNulty drove in two runs, while Braxton Swanson posted a two-hit day with a run scored.
-Riley Brandvold posted two hits and runs scored on the day. He extended his hitting streak to 12 games.
-Trey Holland (3-1) flirted with a perfect game, recording 18 straight outs before Will Kirk ended the bid with a leadoff double. He tossed six-plus innings, striking out eight.
CENTRE KEY STATISTICS
-Will Kirk recorded two hits, while Seth Hagan drove in two runs.
-Nick Hoffman (3-1) allowed two earned runs in five innings.
