Lehman Rallies to Defeat Baruch in Walk Off (6-5)

More news about: Baruch

The Baruch College Bearcats lost a heart-breaker to Lehman College this afternoon in the Bronx.

The Lightning of Lehman scored four runs in the bottom of the ninth in a come back and won 6-5 in a walk off.

The Bearcats used a four-run third inning to take control of the game. First baseman Conor McCabe drove in Davic Capellan to put Baruch up 1-0. Two batters later, Gerardo Roque hit a double with the bases loaded, bringing in all three runners for a 4-0 advantage.

Starting pitcher Paul Sirakowski kept Lehman scoreless through the first seven innings, while striking out 10 batters. However, Lehman came alive in the eighth, managing to score two runs to make the score 4-2.

The Bearcats added an insurance run in the top of the ninth, with Nicholas Valeriano singling to drive in Capellan.

It wasn't enough though, as Lehman continued to rally in the bottom of the ninth and completed the comeback victory.

The Bearcats do not have to wait long for another crack at Lehman. The two teams play a doubleheader tomorrow at MCU Park in Brooklyn. The first game begins at 12:00 p.m. and the second game is scheduled for a 3:00 p.m. start.
