Nichols rams past Suffolk

The Nichols College baseball team defeated Suffolk 8-6 in a non-conference matchup Thursday afternoon at the East Boston Memorial field in East Boston, Massachusetts.

Nichols senior Joe Assenza propelled the Bison with a pair of doubles, and two RBI in the win over the Rams (13-9-1). Freshman Kyle Desjardins (3-for-5) and David Caron (3-for-5) both picked up three hits and combined for three runs scored. Junior Kyle Bouchard contributed to the offense with a pair of RBI to push him to 16 on the season.

The Rams were led by junior Tim Brigham (3-for-4) and sophomore Ben Isaak, who drove in a team-high two RBI on a pair of hits and one run scored. Nichols junior Jack Dicenso ultimately received the win after relieving freshman Jacob Plikus after one inning of work. Dicenso pitched four innings, giving up no runs on one hit, while striking out five batters. Ram's freshman George Breslin received the loss after giving up eight runs (six earned) across 3.2 innings of work.

-Today's game marked the 35th all-time meeting between the two programs, the Bison now have the slight advantage with the 18-17 mark.
