Keystone Falls at PSU Harrisburg 14-11 on Walkoff Grand Slam

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - Despite leading 11-10 entering the bottom of the ninth, the Keystone College baseball team fell to host Penn State Harrisburg 14-11 on a walkoff grand slam on Tuesday afternoon.

With the loss, the Giants fall to 8-9 and host Arcadia tomorrow at 3:30 p.m. The Lions improve to 18-8-1.

Trailing 3-0 after two innings, Keystone put together a five-run third, thanks to an RBI by double by junior Nick Carlini (Clarks Summit, Pa./Abington Heights) and a two-run homer by senior Johann Paniagua (Bronx, NY/James Monroe Campus High School).

In the fourth, junior Ryan Callahan (Highland Mills, N.Y./Monroe-Woodbury) connected for a two-run shot to give the Giants a 7-3 lead. Callahan came through with an RBI sacrifice fly in the sixth to hand Keystone an 8-5 edge.

The Lions plated five in the sixth to go ahead 10-8 before a Paniagua RBI double and a two-run double by senior Mohammed Hussein (Queens, NY/William C. Bryant) gave the lead back to the Giants in the seventh, 11-10. 

Overall, Keystone finished with 12 hits as senior Chris Panzarella (Hazle Township, Pa./Hazleton Area)went 3-for-5 with two runs. Paniagua finished 2-for-5 with 3 RBI while Callahan enjoyed a 2-for-2 day with two runs and 3 RBI.

Hussein went 1-for-2 with one run, 2 RBI and three walks. 

On the mound, senior Dakota McFadden (Rocky Point, NC/Heide Trask) earned the start and threw 5 ⅓ frames, fanning four while walking just one. Freshman Jordan Montes (Tampa, Fla./Sickles), senior Luke McDonagh (Carmel, NY/Carmel) and junior Ramon Disla (Bronx, N.Y./Alfred E. Smith) all appeared in relief.
