Gwynedd Mercy Breaks Out Bats In Win

BROOKLYN, N.Y. -- Gwynedd Mercy had season highs in hits and runs in their 21-1 victory at St. Joseph's Brooklyn on Wednesday afternoon.

As a team, the Griffins totaled 21 hits as 16 different players recorded a hit. Five players had two or more hits.

Starter Gino Tripodi threw six strong innings, striking out a career-high eight with just one walk on five hits. Cameron Culver worked the final three innings, yielding just one run on four hits with no walks and three K's.

After an RBI double from Dave Tatoian in the third for a 1-0 lead, GMercyU opened things up in the fifth, plating 10 runs on six hits, four walks and a pair of errors. Ryan Keen delivered all of his five RBIs in the frame, using a three-run home run and a two-run single.

Shaun Thomas hit a two-run single to highlight a five-run seventh. Alex Ritter did the same in the ninth, knocking in two with a single as part of a four spot in the inning.

Tatoian, Justin Curtin, and Rob Bailey all scored twice. Jack JamisonT.J. Brasier and Tatoian also walked twice.

The Griffins are right back at tomorrow at home when they welcome Ursinus starting at 4 p.m.
