La PLUME, Pa. – The Keystone College baseball team split with visiting Wilson College on Saturday afternoon in CSAC action, winning game one, 5-4, before falling in game two, 1-0.
The Giants now stand at 11-10 (5-1 CSAC) and will host Marywood University on Tuesday, April 16 at 3:30 p.m. The Phoenix are now 14-7 (4-2 CSAC).
Game One: Keystone 5, Wilson 4
The Giants scored four in the first and senior Chris Panzarella (Hazle Township, Pa./Hazleton Area) scored on a wild pitch for the walk-off win in the opener.
In the first, junior Nick Carlini (Clarks Summit, Pa./Abington Heights) tallied an RBI single while senior Johann Paniagua (Bronx, NY/James Monroe Campus High School) and junior Joe Fichera(Mahopac, N.Y./Mahopac) ripped run scoring doubles to give Keystone a 4-0 edge early on.
Wilson battled back and scored three in the second and tied the game on a sacrifice fly in the seventh.
The Giants finished with five hits in game one.
Sophomore Nathan Hinkley (Bradenton, Fla./Saint Lucie West Centennial) earned the start and the no-decision as the righty tossed six innings, allowing two earned runs while striking out seven, tossing 100 pitches. Junior Ramon Disla (Bronx, N.Y./Alfred E. Smith) threw one inning in relief and earned the win.
Game Two: Wilson 1, Keystone 0
Wilson scored on a Keystone error in the top of the first and this was all the offense the Phoenix needed.
The Giants ended with six hits and senior Dakota McFadden (Rocky Point, NC/Heide Trask) went 2-for-3. Panzarella, Carlini, Fichera and senior Mohammed Hussein (Queens, NY/William C. Bryant) all added base knocks.
On the hill, senior Christopher Adams (Brooklyn, NY/Franklin K. Lane) suffered the loss, as the righty went 6 2/3 frames, allowing just one unearned run while striking out five, tossing 83 pitches.
Senior Luke McDonagh (Carmel, NY/Carmel) tossed 1/3 in relief.
For Wilson, Hunter Cheek earned the win, going the distance while striking out four.
