Giants Use Long Ball in 19-2 Win Over Marywood

La PLUME, Pa. – Senior Dakota McFadden(Rocky Point, NC/Heide Trask), junior Nick Carlini(Clarks Summit, Pa./Abington Heights) and sophomore R.J. Gouldsbury all homered and junior Jared Rowley (Dover, Del./Dover) struck out 10 as the Keystone College baseball team defeated visiting Marywood University 19-2 on Tuesday afternoon.

With the win, the Giants improve to 12-10 and will host Stevens Tech tomorrow at 4 p.m. The Pacers drop to 5-20 on the season.

Keystone exploded for 20 hits overall and plated 10 runs in the bottom of the fourth, five in the fifth and three in the seventh.

In the fourth, McFadden launched a three-run homer to left. The senior finished 2-for-2 with three runs, four RBI and two walks.

In the fifth, Carlini blasted a grand slam over the left field wall to make it 15-0 in favor of Keystone. Carlini finished 3-for-4 with three runs and four RBI. Gouldsbury enjoyed a solo shot to left in the bottom of the sixth.

Senior Anthony Ferrezza (East Islip, N.Y./East Islip) finished the day 3-for-5 with three RBI and two runs, including a two-run single to right center in the fourth. Senior Mohammed Hussein (Queens, NY/William C. Bryant) went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI. Senior Johann Paniagua (Bronx, NY/James Monroe Campus High School) went 2-for-4 with two RBI and two runs, with two RBI singles in the fourth.

Eight different Giants finished with one hit.

On the mound, Rowley tossed five scoreless innings of one-hit ball and fanned 10 Pacers while walking just one. Sophomore Conrad Holbrook (Haymarket, Va./Battlefield), senior Wandy Brito(Reading, Pa./Reading) and sophomores Sam Beadle (Canton, Conn./Canton) and Ross Zanghi(Scranton, Pa./Scranton) all threw one inning each in relief.
