LISLE, IL - The Benedictine University baseball team recorded a sweep of visiting Illinois Tech to run their win streak to seven games.

BENEDICTINE 6, ILLINOIS TECH 4 - GAME ONE
Alexander Schram sat down Illinois Tech in order to start the game before Benedictine set the tone with a pair of runs in the bottom of the inning
Jack Feeley reached on an error and was joined on the bases by Jimmy McLaughlin following a walk
A double steal moved both runners into scoring position
Jack Surin knocked in the first run with a groundout before a double from Damen Castillo padded the edge
Illinois Tech cut into the lead with an unearned run in the second before two more from Benedictine in the bottom of the frame
Chase Patterson doubled, moved up on a balk and scored on a bunt single from Kyle Mitter
Mitter swiped second, moved to third on an error and scored on a single from Feeley
Nicholas Quick singled home a run in the third as Benedictine scored in each of the first three innings
Illinois Tech chipped away, using a two-run homer in the third and a single run in the fifth to draw within a run
The Benedictine bullpen shut the door, working the final four innings without allowing a run to close out the win

GAME ONE LEADERS
Schram allowed two earned runs in five innings, improving to 4-2
Ryan Litavecz threw 1.1 innings while Ty Liaromatis logged 1.2 innings with three strikeouts
Marty Maves earned his sixth save by tossing the ninth
Feeley and Surin each notched two hits as Benedictine finished with nine in the opener

BENEDICTINE 10, ILLINOIS TECH 6 - GAME TWO
The visitors jumped in front with a run in the top of the second in game two
Benedictine instantly tied the game on a groundout from Cameron Falk that followed back-to-back singles from Castillo and Brenden Norberg
The lead would swell to 7-1 as Benedictine scored two with two outs in the third on a two-run double from Castillo
Four runs in the sixth appeared to put the game out of reach
Feeley and McLaughlin posted run-scoring hits in the inning while a steal and an error led to the other runs
Illinois Tech scored four times in the eighth after notching a single run in the seventh and stranded the tying run at second, fighting within 7-6
Benedictine put the game away with three runs in the bottom half as McLaughlin, Surin and Tyler Woynerowski drove home runs
The game was not devoid of white knuckle moments as Illinois Tech left runners at second and third in the fifth after consecutive strikeouts from starter Justin Sosa

GAME TWO LEADERS
Sosa threw five innings to earn the win, striking out six
Simon Herold, Litavecz, and Drake Berman bridged the gap to Maves, who tallied his seventh save
The offense finished with 14 hits
Feeley logged three with McLaughlin, Castillo, Norberg and Patterson each adding two

Benedictine (17-9, 9-3 NACC) will face Aurora in a key doubleheader on Monday at Wheaton College's home field in Carol Stream, Ill.
