The Baruch College Bearcats lost 13-8 today to the Dolphins of the College of Mount Saint Vincent in a back-and-forth game played at Westchester Community College in Valhalla, New York.

After falling behind 7-0, the Bearcats came roaring back, getting to within two runs.

Kemal Deljanin got the Bearcats on the board in the fourth inning when he doubled to drive in Jorge Keith Mercado. The next batter Liam O'Gara hit a two-RBI single to bring home Mercado and Conor McCabe.

The Bearcats scored another three runs in the fifth inning. Nicholas Valeriano led the inning off with a single and proceeded to steal second and third base, eventually scoring on a throwing error.  Deljanin then hit his team-leading fourth homerun of the season, a two-run shot that drove in Mercado and cut the Dolphins' lead to 8-6.

The Dolphins responded by scoring four runs over the next two innings. Deljanin had an answer again in the seventh inning. The freshman hit a sacrifice fly to bring home Mercado and pick up his fourth RBI of the game. Two batters later, Angelo Alessandro singled to drive in McCabe, who had doubled earlier in the inning.

The Bearcats were held scoreless over the final two innings as the Dolphins from the Skyline Conference pulled out the win.

Robert Raman had a strong outing in relief. The sophomore struck out two batters in three innings of work while allowing just one run.
