2019 Ends For Keystone With 13-1 Loss to Salve Regina

HARTFORD, Conn. - The 2019 season came to an end on Saturday for the Keystone College baseball team as the Giants fell to Salve Regina University 13-1 in the NCAA Division III Regional Tournament, hosted by Trinity College.

The Giants wrap up the year at 25-16 while the Seahawks improve to 28-15.

Salve Regina scored three in the first, one in the third and tacked on five runs in the seventh and four more in the eighth. The Seahawks outhit the Giants 13-10.

Seniors Ronald Medina (Bronx, NY/Dewitt Clinton) and Johann Paniagua (Bronx, NY/James Monroe Campus High School) both went 2-for-4 in their final games for Keystone with Medina scoring the team's lone run in the ninth, off a fielder's choice by freshman Chris Hadsall (Lehman, Pa./Lake Lehman).

Senior Anthony Ferrezza (East Islip, N.Y./East Islip) enjoyed a pinch-hit double in the eighth in the final at bat of his career. Classmate Chris Panzarella (Hazle Township, Pa./Hazleton Area) went 1-for-4 while senior Dakota McFadden (Rocky Point, NC/Heide Trask) finished 1-for-3 with a double in their final outings for the program.

Junior Nick Carlini (Clarks Summit, Pa./Abington Heights) went 2-for-4 while sophomore RJ Gouldsbury (Throop, Pa./Mid Valley) provided a base knock. Senior Mohammed Hussein (Queens, NY/William C. Bryant) made five putouts in center field in his final game with the Giants.

On the mound, junior Jared Rowley (Dover, Del./Dover) earned the start and threw six innings, allowing four runs while walking one and striking out one. Rowley forced nine flyouts and seven groundouts in the defeat.

Appearing out of the bullpen for the final times in their careers were seniors Luke McDonagh (Carmel, NY/Carmel)Wandy Brito (Reading, Pa./Reading) and Christopher Adams (Brooklyn, NY/Franklin K. Lane). Juniors Evan Plante (Albany, N.Y./Christian Brothers) and Ramon Disla (Bronx, N.Y./Alfred E. Smith) also threw.
