BW's Cody Collects First Career COSIDA/Google Cloud Baseball Academic All-American Honor

AUSTIN, Texas – For the first time in his career, Baldwin Wallace University senior two-time American Baseball Coaches Association(ABCA)/Rawlings All-Mideast Region and two-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference right-handed pitcher Danny Cody (Medina/ Brecksville-Broadview Hts.) has been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA)/Google Cloud Academic All-American third team.

Cody, a Dean's List student and Jacket Scholar, carries a 3.54 grade point average in BW's Master's of Accounting & Finance Program. He is one of two OAC student-athletes that were selected to the team in 2019.

In his senior season, Cody led the OAC in wins (9), earned run average (1.89), and strikeouts (109). His 109 strikeouts places him atop BW's single-season strikeout record. This year the righty has made 15 appearances with 13 starts and dealt a team-high 85.2 innings. For his career, Cody has made 60 appearances with 33 starts and owns a 19-8 record with two saves, 262 strikeouts in 227 innings, and a 3.33 ERA.

Other accolades for Cody include being named the ABCA and D3Baseball.com Division lll Mideast Pitcher of the Year, an ABCA and D3baseball.com first-team selection, and OAC Pitcher of the Year. 

Cody becomes BW's 116 all-time Academic All-American, which is more than any Division lll college or university in the OAC or the state of Ohio, and ranks 13th nationally in Division lll.
