Oxy Offense Scores 13 in Win

LOS ANGELES — The Occidental baseball team crushed the ball in a 13-2 win over Rochester (N.Y.) on Wednesday.

Michael Ingram led the way, going 5 for 5 with a triple, a double, three RBIs and a run scored, and Preston Chong went 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, two RBIs and two runs scored for Oxy.

Antonio Andrade, the reigning SCIAC Hitter of the Week, continued his outstanding work at the plate, going 2 for 4 with three runs and two RBIs. 

Nolan Upchurch was 2 for 4 with a pair of doubles, and Angelo Zorn went 2 for 2 with a triple, three runs and a pair of RBIs.

Jon Thoren earned the win for the Tigers, pitching five innings with five strikeouts, and just one earned run in the start. Cade Denyer pitched the back four innings, striking out three with one earned.

Jason Cobert was charged with the loss for Rochester (N.Y.).

Oxy is back in action against Cal Lutheran on Thursday at 3 p.m. in a non-conference game.
