DAVENPORT, FL - The Benedictine University baseball team scored late to grab a third consecutive win, knocking off Hope in Florida.

THE DETAILS
- Benedictine scored four runs in the bottom of the first inning to build a big early edge
- Ryan Doubek led off the game with a walk, moved to second on an error and was sacrificed to third
- Kevin Bushnell put Benedictine on the board with an RBI double
- Damen Castillo followed with a single and Cameron Falk made the score 2-0 with an RBI single
- Andrew Tenison and Cole Wilson also added RBI singles in the inning
- Hope, who was picked to finish second in the MIAA, responded with a run in the second and four in the third to jump ahead 5-4
- Jack Carlson opened the bottom of the fourth with a single and scored on a Doubek sacrifice fly to tie the game
- The deciding run scored in the bottom of the eighth
- Wilson was hit by a pitch to start the inning and with two outs pinch runner Chase Hanselman scored on a double from Anthony Lenza

- Benedictine racked up 14 hits in the win, a third straight game with 10 or more
- Five different players logged multiple hits
- Castillo notched three hits while Lenza, Bushnell, Tenison and Peter Turelli all added a pair
- Jackson Bahn made the start, working 2.1 innings
- John Creviston worked 4.2 innings in relief, fanning seven
- Simon Herold worked the final two innings to earn his first win of the year, striking out two
- The pitching staff fanned 11 in the fourth contest of the year with 10 or more strikeouts
