ANNVILLE, Pa. – Nico Santoro had four hits and Mike Bulgia knocked in five runs as the Lebanon Valley College Flying Dutchmen ended Catholic's 11-game winning streak with a 20-13 victory in game two of a doubleheader split at McGill Field on Saturday.
Game 1
The Cardinals (15-6) broke through with two runs in the fourth inning of a pitcher's duel to take the lead. Catholic added two runs in the fifth and then had a big four-run inning in the sixth to defeat the Dutchmen (10-7) in the opener.
Inside the Box Score
- Max Kaplan had two hits in the leadoff spot while Santoro went 2-for-3 batting second.
- Ryan Murphy extended his hitting streak to 12 games with a single to center in the sixth.
- Tanner Rock had nine strikeouts in 4.1 innings of work. Tony Bennage struck out two in the seventh.
Game 2
LVC (11-7) broke open the game with an eight-run third inning. The Dutchmen did most of their scoring in the middle innings. They scored four in the fourth, five in the fifth, and one in the sixth to build a 20-4 lead. The Cardinals (15-7) took out all of their starters and put together a little bit of a rally scoring two in the seventh, six in the eight, and one in the ninth to cut the score to 20-13.
Inside the Box Score
- Santoro had a monster game with four hits, three runs scored, and three RBIs. Bulgia knocked in five runs on two hits and scored a pair of runs.
- Dave Mangold and Ethan O'Loughlin also had three hits for the Dutchmen. O'Loughlin knocked in five runs and scored three times.
- The Dutchmen hit a season-high eight doubles. Santoro (2), Bulgia, Jace Fetterman, Shane Stossel (2), and O'Loughlin (2) hit the doubles in the game. Mangold stole two bases.
- Kyle Kingsbury pitched six strong innings to improve to 2-2 on the year. The senior struck out seven.

The Dutchmen will return to the diamond on Sunday with a 1 p.m. first pitch against Franklin & Marshall on McGill Field.
