The No. 10 ranked University of Wisconsin-Whitewater baseball team continued Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play Sunday with a pair of wins against UW-Oshkosh at Prucha Field at James B. Miller Stadium.

The Warhawks (11-4 overall, 3-1 WIAC) defeated the Titans 3-0 in the first game before concluding the day with a 6-3 triumph.

In Game 2, UW-Whitewater plated four runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to turn a 3-2 deficit into a three-run advantage. First baseman Nick Paget (New Berlin, Wis./West) tied the game with a run-scoring double and a ground ball by Zach Campbell (Burlington, Wis./Burlington) gave UW-W the lead. Pinch hitter David Rubin (Northbrook, Ill./Glenbrook North) knocked a two-out, two-run single down the right field line for a pair of insurance runs.

Sam Vomhof (DeForest, Wis./DeForest), who doubled to lead off the eighth, pitched around a two-out walk in the top of the ninth for his second save of the year.

Cade Berendt (Germantown, Wis./Germantown) improved to 3-0 on the season by tossing a scoreless eighth. He relieved Kade Lancour (Nekoosa, Wis./Nekoosa), who struck out eight batters and allowed one earned run over seven innings.

The two teams were held scoreless over the first 5 1/2 frames before UW-Whitewater took a 2-0 lead in the sixth thanks to a run-scoring double by Paget and a two-out, RBI single up the middle by designated hitter Matt Korman (Waterford, Wis./Waterford Union).

UW-Oshkosh (6-8, 1-3) scored three times in the top of the seventh and had two runners on with one out in the top of the eighth. Berendt induced a flyout before ending the inning with a strikeout to set up UW-W's comeback.

In the opener, Westin Muir (Highlands Ranch, Colo./St. Charles North (Ill.)) and Eli Frank (Suamico, Wis./Bay Port) combined for a three-hit shutout and the Warhawks tallied twice in the bottom of the first and once in the bottom of the fifth.

Muir improved to 3-1 with the win, allowing two hits and four walks while striking out 10 over seven innings. The senior held the Titans hitless through the first 6 1/3 frames.

Frank earned his first save of the year, pitching around a one-out infield single in the eighth before retiring the side in order in the ninth. He finished with four strikeouts in the performance.

Third baseman Sam Vomhof (DeForest, Wis./DeForest) registered three hits, one run scored and one RBI. Right fielder Jacob DeMeyer (Harshaw, Wis./Rhinelander) totaled one hit and one RBI and Paget plated a run on a groundout in the first inning.
