At the Plate

  • James DeProspero recorded two RBIs and scored once, going 2-for-4 in game one.

  • Keegan Brennan went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a walk in game one.

  • Stephen Sommer had a double in game one.

  • Matt Schopf scored twice in game one. 

On the Mound

  • Jack Martin started game one and took the loss, allowing three runs on five hits. He also walked three and struck out three in the outing. 

  • Gavin Pollard and Ryan McCreedy combined to pitch the seventh inning. Seven runs were scored between both pitchers on five hits.

  • Joe Monteleone finished the game throwing two innings. He allowed four runs on four hits.

  • Joe Alexander got the start in game two, he threw 5.0 innings and was given the loss. He allowed five runs on seven hits, while striking out five. 

  • Frank Spaide and Matthew Stout each pitched two  innings, three runs were scored on five hits. 

 Lebanon Valley 14, Hood 2

  • Lebanon Valley took the lead early, scoring one run in the first inning. Max Kaplan led off the inning with a walk, and later scored on Jace Fetterman groundout to Sam Wheeler at second base.

  • Fetterman led off the top half of the fourth inning with a single up the middle. Following an error by Alex Jenkins, Andrew Miles knocked in Fetterman with a single down the left field line up the Dutchman's lead. Luke Blair walked during the next at-bat to load up the bases for Lebanon Valley. Ethan O'Loughlin pinch hit for Bryan Mowery later in the inning and grounded out to Jenkins at third base to bring in Ryan Murphy. The Dutchmen's lead extended to 3-0.

  • Lebanon Valley took control of the game in the seventh inning, scoring seven runs on five hits as they took a 10-0 lead. Kaplan doubled into the left field gap to start the inning, and Nico Santoro singled during the next at-bat. Mike Bulgia scored Kaplan from third base with a single into left field. With the bases-loaded after a Dave Mangold walk, Conor Smith walked to knockin Santoro from third. With the bases still loaded, Miles drew the third consecutive walk to score Bulgia. Blair doubled into center field that cleared the bases scoring Mangold, Miles and Smith. The last run of the inning came when O'Loughlin singled up the middle to score Blair from second base. 

  • The Blazers got on the board in the bottom of the seventh inning, scoring once. Matt Schopf singled and later stole second to put himself into scoring position. Brennan singled up the middle to bring him home.

  • The Dutchman were not done scoring, finding two more runs in the eighth inning. Santoro walked to start the inning, and Buglia during the next at-bat singled to left field to give Lebanon Valley two base runners. Murphy later in the inning doubled into the left field gap to bring both Santoro and Bulgia home, Lebanon Valley's lead was pushed to 13-1.

  • Lebanon Valley scored its last run of the game in the ninth inning. Anthony Giancatarino walked with the bases-loaded to score O'Loughlin.

  • Hood scored its last run of the game in the ninth on a Jacob Saylor sacrifice fly that brought in Schopf to end the scoring at 14-2 Lebanon Valley. 

Lebanon Valley 8, Hood 3

  • Lebanon Valley struck first again in the first inning, scoring one run. The game started with back-to-back singles by Kaplan and Santoro. Bulgia reached on a fielder's choice as Santoro was out on the play, but a Sam Wheeler throwing error ended up scoring Kaplan from second. 

  • O'Loughlin was hit by a pitch in the second inning followed by a Ryan Petrucci walk. Both players advanced on a wild pitch later in the inning . Santoro doubled into the gap in left field to score both runners to give the Dutchman a 3-0 lead.

  • Lebanon Valley inched farther ahead with two more runs in the fifth inning. Bulgia walked and later stole second, Smith singled into left field to drive inBulgia, and advanced to second by way of an error. Miles singled to right field during the next at-bat to score Smith.

  • In the sixth inning, Murphy walked to start off the inning, later moving over on a Petrucci ground out. Kaplan singled down the left field line to bring in Murphy to give the Dutchman a comfortable lead 6-0.

  • The Blazers got themselves on the board in the bottom of the sixth inning. DeProspero led off the inning with a single, stole second and scored after a pair of LVC errors..

  • Lebanon Valley added another run in the seventh inning on a Fetterman home run to extend its lead to 7-1. 

  • In the seventh inning, after a Saylor walk, DeProspero doubled deep to left field, driving in  Saylor all the way from first base. Each team scored one run in the ninth inning.                  

For the Opponent 

  • Miles went 5-for-8 on the afternoon with two doubles and four RBIs.

  • Fetterman hit a home run and recorded two RBI's, going 4-for-8.

  • Kaplan, Murphy and Blair recorded a double in game one.

  • Tanner Rock started game one and threw seven innings. He allowed one run on four hits and struck out four to receive the win.

  • Malachi Duke threw a scoreless eighth inning striking out three.

  • Will Zimmerman allowed one run in the ninth inning.

  • Shane Stossel started game two going six innings, allowing one run on three hits, he also recorded nine strikeouts to get the win.

  • Jacob Horton threw 2.0 innings, allowing two runs on one hit.

  • Brendan Landry pitched a scoreless ninth inning, allowing one hit and striking out two. 

Notes

  • Hood's record fell to 8-20 overall and 1-5 in the MAC Commonwealth on the year.  

  • Lebanon Valley improved to 17-11 and 5-3.
