MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Sophomores Jahiem Green (Stafford), Grayson Harris (Moseley) and Jaxon Masterson (Raleigh, NC) each collected a hit, as Hampden-Sydney College dropped a 13-0 non-conference baseball decision to Middlebury (VT) College on Sunday at the Huntingdon Spring Break Tournament in Montgomery, Alabama. Freshman Sterling Austin (Petersburg) took the pitching setback for the Tigers (6-4) against the Panthers (1-2) in the seven-inning game.

H-SC had three hits with no errors. MC scored 13 runs on 16 hits with no errors … scoring three runs each in the first and second innings, one run in third, two runs in the fourth and four runs in the sixth.

Austin (0-1) started on the mound for the Tigers and pitched the first 1.1 innings, allowing eight hits and six runs, all earned, with three strikeouts and two walks. The Garnet & Grey used five pitchers on the day, including freshman Greer Farr (Southern Shores, NC), who tossed a scoreless and hitless inning with two strikeouts and two walks, along with senior Tymothy Hart (Powhatan), who also tossed a scoreless and hitless inning with two strikeouts and one walk.

H-SC is scheduled to continue its spring break trip this week with two non-conference games in North Carolina, including at Greensboro (NC) College on Tuesday, March 7, at 2 p.m. in Greensboro, and at North Carolina Wesleyan on Wednesday, March 8, at 3:30 p.m. in Rocky Mount.
