CORTLAND, N.Y. – Mat Bruno's (Rye) grand slam highlighted a seven-run top of the 10th inning and Cortland defeated visiting Fredonia, 13-6, in the second game of a SUNYAC doubleheader. Cortland won the opener, 7-0, as Bryan Bernard (Howell, NJ) and Shane Van Dam (Cranford, NJ) combined on a four-hit shutout with 14 strikeouts.

The series was originally scheduled to be held at Fredonia but was moved to Cortland due to field conditions, and as a result Fredonia batted last.

Cortland (19-7, 9-0 SUNYAC) extended its winning streak to 14 games and took over sole possession of the conference lead with the victories. The Red Dragons are scheduled to host St. Lawrence in a non-league game Wednesday and a three-game series with Oneonta, the league's second-place team (5-1 conference record), on Friday and Saturday.
