ANNVILLE, Pa. – First baseman Logan Brewer crushed a walk-off three-run home run to give the Lebanon Valley College baseball team a thrilling 5-4 victory over York College of Pennsylvania on Sunday afternoon. The win provided the team with a sweep of the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Commonwealth Semifinal series at McGill Field, advancing Lebanon Valley to the conference championship series.

It appeared as if the Dutchmen and Spartans were headed to a series-deciding game three, as LVC was down to its final out when Brewer stepped up to the plate. The sophomore came through in the clutch, sending the club to its third consecutive MAC Commonwealth Championship Series with his eighth home run of the year. Several members of Lebanon Valley's lineup contributed to the win, as six players tallied hits and five scored runs.

The Flying Dutchmen got things started early in this one, taking a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning. Third baseman Andrew Miles opened the scoring by lining a single to left-center field, plating Connor Smith. The Spartans then got their bats going in the top of the fourth, taking a 2-1 advantage on a double to left-center field and an infield single to second base.

York tacked on a couple more in the top of the fifth inning, extending their lead over Lebanon Valley to 4-1 with a two-run homer to left-center field. The Dutchmen responded in the bottom of the sixth, trimming their deficit to 4-2. Pinch hitter Ryan Petrucci delivered for the club, scorching a single through the right side to drive in Dave Mangold.

The pitching staff of both clubs then traded zeros until the bottom of the ninth inning. Lebanon Valley received some stellar relief appearances, as Hunter Tipton and Jeremy Tuz kept the opposition hitless during this final stretch of the game. Both hurlers posted scoreless outings, as Tipton logged 2.2 innings of work and Tuz threw a pair of perfect frames.

The bottom of the ninth began with Miles driving a double down the right field line. Pinch hitter Luke Blair followed this by drawing a walk, bringing the winning run up to the plate for the Dutchmen. Later in the frame with two outs, Brewer clobbered a dramatic, three-run walk-off blast to score Miles and pinch runner Kenny Palmieri.
