#14 Rowan Explodes for 22-4 Win over Oswego State

SALISBURY, MD ? Nick Struble hit his first career home run and drove in five runs as #14 Rowan exploded for a 22-4 win over Oswego State in a neutral-site game at Donnie Williams Sea Gull Stadium for the Profs' first win of the year. Struble went 2-for-4 with three runs, which included a three-run home run in the fourth inning. Tyler Cannon was 2-for-5 with a home run, Phil Sedalis was 3-for-3 with three RBI, Dylan Maria went 4-for4-4 with four runs and Jason Morgan went 3-for-6 with three runs driven in as Rowan (1-1) pounded 19 hits. Cannon led off the game with his third home run in two days and the Profs had a 2-0 lead in the first after Morgan doubled in a run. Oswego State (0-1) took a 4-3 lead in the second inning, using two home runs and a double off Profs' starter Thomas Sullivan. But that would be the last scoring for the Lakers as Struble hit a sacrifice fly to tie the game in the third. From there the Profs would score 18 consecutive runs, including six in the fourth, led by a three-run shot by Struble that scored Morgan and Maria. The Profs picked up four runs in the seventh and eighth innings, including a two-run single from Kevin Stewart to mark his first collegiate hit. Sullivan made his return to action after missing the past two seasons with an injury and threw two innings, posting four strikeouts. Junior transfer Zach Coluccio earned his first win at Rowan throwing six shutout innings and striking out seven. Freshman Brayden Davis closed out the game tossing one scoreless inning. After this weekend the Profs will make their annual Spring Break trip to the RussMatt Invitational, with a nine-game schedule from March 7-16. Rowan opens the home slate on March 20 against Neumann.
