No. 4 Salisbury Baseball wallops Lycoming, 15-2

SALISBURY, Md. – The fourth-ranked Salisbury University baseball team left the yard on four occasions on the way to a 15-2 walloping of the Lycoming Warriors on Tuesday afternoon at Donnie Williams Sea Gull Baseball Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Warriors broke the ice in the top of the first inning. Nick Reeder led off with a single, then three batters later Evan Mok doubled him home to put LC on top 1-0.
  • Andrew Kell got that run back on the very first pitch of the bottom of the first, blasting a leadoff home run to left. Kyle Brex followed with a single, then Tim Petrucelli cracked his own two-run dinger deep to right to make it 3-1 SU.
  • Dylan Winebrenner then walked and Danny Sheeler singled to put men on the corners. Winebrenner came home on a wild pitch, and Sheeler eventually came in on an Adam Tommer RBI groundout that made it 5-1.
  • Lycoming inched closer in the top of the third. Jack Kelly singled to lead off and Zachary Pleska eventually doubled him home to get the Warriors within 5-2.
  • In the home third, Petrucelli led off with a base hit and Winebrenner belted a two-run shot to right center, pushing the SU advantage back to 7-2.
  • The Sea Gulls put four more on the board in the fourth, with the first two coming in on a wild pitch and balk, then two more on another two-run big fly by Winebrenner that made it 11-2.
  • SU notched another four-spot in the sixth on a Petrucelli RBI double, Sheeler run-scoring single, a throwing error from second base, and a Tommer sac fly to get it to 15-2, where it would stay through the 27th out.
