#7 Rowan Records 11-8 Win at Swarthmore

SWARTHMORE, PA – Anthony Schooley and Tyler Cannon had three hits each as #7 Rowan pounded 17 hits en route to an 11-8 win at Swarthmore. The Profs improve to 12-2 on the season with their fourth straight victory.
 
Starter Zach Coluccio went 5.2 innings and struck out four to earn the victory. Swarthmore scored six runs in the final inning but Sean Colbert was able to get the final out and record his first save of the year.
 
Schooley was 3-for-5 with two runs scored while Cannon went 3-for-5 and scored four runs. The Profs had two-RBI games from Phil SedalisDylan MariaJason Morgan and Nick Struble.
 
Rowan staked a 6-0 lead in the first three innings. Cannon scored one in the first after Morgan reached on a fielder's choice. The Profs added three in the second with RBI singles by Sedalis, Schooley and Maria. Catcher Luke Bickunas hit the first home run of his career in the third, a solo shot to left field, followed by a single from Sedalis that brought home Cannon to up the lead to 6-0.
 
The Profs added two more in the eighth as Struble's sacrifice fly brough in Sedalis while Joey Bogart singled in Schooley for an 8-0 lead.
 
Swarthmore got two back in the bottom of that inning, and then exploded for six runs in the bottom of the ninth to close the gap. Colbert entered the game with two on and two out and posted a strikeout for the final out to earn the save.
 
Rowan returns to action on Tuesday when it visits nationally-ranked Johns Hopkins and then hosts Penn State Harrisburg on Wednesday. The Profs open defense of their NJAC regular-season title with a conference doubleheader on Saturday vs. Kean at the Rowan Baseball Field.
