Bats back Budacki as W&J tops Mount Union for seventh-straight win

ALLIANCE, Ohio – Senior first baseman Nolan Lutz (McDonald, Pa./South Fayette) and freshman outfielder Andrew Miko (Portage, Pa./Portage) collected four hits apiece to back a strong start by freshman pitcher Bobby Budacki (New Brighton, Pa./New Brighton) in a 9-1 road win over the University of Mount Union in non-conference play Sunday at Rafeld-Rogers Baseball Field.

The Presidents took the lead for good with a three-spot in the fourth to take a 4-1 lead. A batter later, Drew Garth (Glenshaw, Pa./North Hills) delivered PAC team-leading eighth home run of the season. W&J would add another run later in the inning when Lutz scampered home with runners on the corners.

Lutz made it 5-1 with an RBI double in the sixth that plated Garth.

The Presidents furthered enhanced their lead with two runs in the seventh. Sophomore Ben Schuler (McDonald, Pa./South Fayette) singled and scored on an RBI double to center field by Miko. Klein tacked on another run with an RBI single that scored Miko for a 7-1 lead.
