YORK, Pa. – Stevenson baseball (8-11, 3-4 MACC) scored two runs and seven hits against the York College Spartans (13-4, 5-2 MACC) on Friday afternoon, but the final score favored York, 13-2.
 
The Mustangs found their first run of two in the top of the third on a sacrifice fly from sophomore outfield Graham Sears, allowing junior infield Brandon Perillo, who had doubled earlier, to reach home.
 
Following two walks in the top of the fourth and a base hit from sophomore outfield Kaige Garrity to load the bases, first-year shortstop Jaylon Surell grounded into a double play, allowing senior first basemen Nick Tamberino on third to make it home for the second run.
 
The Mustangs got four more hits in the remainder of the innings with one fielder's choice reached by first-year outfield Christopher Manco in the top of the fifth.
 
Sears picked up an RBI with sophomore catcher John Padousis adding two hits. Tamberino and junior outfield Dalton Reinhart each had three walks. As a team, the Mustangs totaled eight walks on 29 at bats with eight left on base.
 
Five Mustangs, including sophomore Collin Palmieri and junior Carl Sansbury, each struck out two for a combined five hits and four walks. Senior Jake Pigeon got the loss with 3.0 innings pitched against six runs and seven hits.
 
The Mustangs will host the Spartans in a doubleheader on Saturday, March 20 for a nine-and-seven beginning at noon on East Campus.
