ITHACA IN THE NCAA TOURNAMENT:
Ithaca will be making its 51st all-time trip to the NCAA Division III Championship. IC made 10 appearances (1955, 1959, 1962, 1964, 1967, 1969, 1970, 1971, 1973, 1974) prior to 1976, which is when the NCAA established Division III.

IC is 133-98 all-time in the NCAA Tournament and has won two national titles – 1980 and 1988. Outside of the two championships, Ithaca has been the national runners-up on three other occasions – 1976, 1981 and 1986.

ITHACA VS. THE REGIONAL FIELD:
The Bombers played Case Western twice this year and split the season matchup. CWRU beat IC, 9-8, during the opening weekend of the season, but Ithaca avenged that setback with a 9-4 win in South Carolina.

IC has never played Lynchburg or Alvernia.

ITHACA VS. THE NCAA FIELD:
IC went 5-1 against teams that qualified for the NCAA Division III Championship this season. Ithaca was 2-0 against Arcadia (6-5, 17-1), 1-0 vs. Scranton (10-8), 1-0 vs. St. John Fisher (3-2) and 1-1 vs. CWRU.

BREAKING DOWN THE REGIONAL FIELD (BY SEED):

#6/7 Case Western Reserve University Spartans (31-9)
At-Large Bid – United Athletic Association

CWRU finished the regular season with a record of 31-9, its most wins in a regular season in program history, against the 18th-toughest schedule in the country. The Spartans are making their seventh appearance in the national tournament with an all-time postseason record of 12-12.

The Spartans lead this pod in batting average and doubles, while the pitching staff is tops in strikeouts and saves.

Jack Anderson owns the highest average on the team at .403 and has scored 58 runs, while Dane Camphauser and Nick Harms have each blasted 12 home runs on the season. Camphauser has 55 RBI, while Harms and James Powers have driven in 51 with a .357 average.

Logan Andreyko, Tyler Stillson, Franco Alonso and Zack Carinci are all hitting over .300 on the season.

Quinn Saunders is 5-0 on the mound with a 3.57 ERA and 74 strikeouts in 40.1 innings pitched, while Archer Stankowski (5.05 ERA, 6-3, 53 K, 51.2 IP) and Reece Marley (5-2, 5.06 ERA, 59 K, 58.2 IP) are likely starters for the regional.

Jackson Brewer has thrown 41.0 innings with 41 strikeouts in a relief role, while Anderson has made six saves in seven appearances and has not allowed a run. Tyler Horvath has 52 strikeouts in 31.0 innings in 15 appearances.

#23/RV Ithaca College Bombers (31-9)
Automatic Bid – Liberty League

The Bombers earned their third consecutive trip to the NCAA Division III Championship after their third straight sweep of the Liberty League Tournament. It was a different run for Ithaca this season, as IC walked-off in all three victories.

IC is the lone team in this regional not batting over .300 as a team, but the pitching staff is tops in ERA, opponent batting average and fewest walks and hits allowed.

Camden Laney leads the offense with a .351 average, .564 slugging percentage and .488 on-base percentage, while Ethan Rothstein (.328, 24 RBI, 26 runs), Collin Feeney (.325, 48 hits, 38 runs, 29 BB, 18 SB) and Louis Fabbo (.302, 30 runs, 48 hits, 11 2B, 31 RBI) are also batting over .300 on the season. Matt Curtis has driven in a team-best 41 runs, while Colin Shashaty has scored 36 runs with 28 RBI and 12 extra base hits.

Colin Leyner owns a 7-2 record with a 3.94 ERA and 67 strikeouts in 77.2 innings of work. Jack Picozzi is 4-1 on the bump with 58 punchouts in 48.2 innings, while Danny Drotos is 2-0 with a 3.47 ERA in six starts to round out the starters.

IC has a deep bullpen in John Griffin (5-0, 2.80 ERA, 36 K, 35.1 IP), Conor Burns (30.0 IP, 5 SV, 28 K, 3.90 ERA), Sean Kelly (16 APP, 25.0 IP), Dan Kellachan (16.2 IP, 14K, 10 APP) and Jack Colyer (4-0, 2.94 ERA, 33.2 IP, .224 avg.).

#26/RV University of Lynchburg Hornets (30-15)
Automatic Bid – Old Dominion Athletic Conference

The Hornets won their 11th Old Dominion Athletic Conference championship in program history on May 11 over Roanoke and are making their fourth straight trip to the NCAA Tournament. Lynchburg is making its 12th NCAA Tournament appearance and boasts a 26-22 record all-time, which includes a run to the 2023 national title.

Joe Munitz leads the offense with a .389 average in 89 at bats, but the player to watch in the Lynchburg lineup is Quinn Madden, who owns a .357 average with 13 doubles, 11 home runs and 64 RBI.

Brandon Garcia and Benton Jones are tough outs at the plate with a combined 84 walks, which has led to 99 runs scored. Garcia also has 27 stolen bases and 31 RBI, while Jones has driven in 45. O'Kelly McWilliams IV has 32 stolen bases with 40 runs scored on the season and Gavin Collins has belted seven homers.

Welsey Arrington is the top arm on the staff with a 7-2 record and 81 strikeouts in 74.1 innings pitched and is coming off a no-hitter of Randolph-Macon in the ODAC Tournament. Nick Mattfield and Colin McGuire both have a 4.20 ERA in more than 115 innings pitched. Mattfield is 5-2 with 53 strikeouts, while McGuire has three saves on the season and has struck out 41 in 49.1 innings.

Four relievers have appeared in 17 games or more – Logan Tapman, Nathaniel Mack, Austin Riney and Mason McDowell.

Alvernia University Golden Wolves (28-16)
Automatic Bid – MAC Commonwealth

Alvernia, who is making its 15th NCAA appearance, captured its fourth MAC Commonwealth championship last weekend with a 7-2 win over Messiah in a winner-take-all game in the best-of-three series.

Six batters in the projected starting lineup are hitting over .300 this season, led by a .458 average from Mike Ramundo, who has 77 hits, 51 runs, 22 doubles, six triples and 36 RBI. Jason Kelly paces the offense with 42 RBI, to go along with a .387 average and 25 walks. Matt Edwards is tops on the team with seven homers and has driven in 41, while Garrett Hunter, Logan Nelson and Ben Houghton are the other .300 hitters.
