April 3, 2022 Averett walks off NCW, Pioneers, Scots win key games Averett and NC Wesleyan played their second game in a row that reached the 11th inning but today it was the Cougars that celebrated. in the old Mideast region both Marietta and Wooster earned key wins against top regional teams.
March 26, 2022 North Central gets first wins, Averett wins on senior day North Central (Minn.) earned a pair of wins on Saturday, their first of the season. John jay also scored their first win of the season. In Danville, Virginia, Averett celebrated their seniors with a shutout win on their home diamond.
March 8, 2022 Averett is a surprise winner on Tuesday Lynchburg was kept off the scoreboard and the Averett Cougars made a single tally hold up as they upset No. 7 Lynchburg. It was another win for Marietta after starting their season with wake-up loss in their opener.
June 21, 2021 Leoni steps down, Cassidy tabbed to lead Saints Frank Leoni bids farewell to MU after building the program from the ground up over the past eight seasons. He is set to head north and take over the reins of NCAA Division I institution Mount St. Mary's University. Assistant Coach Mike Cassidy has been named the Interim Head Coach for the 2021-2022 season.
February 19, 2019 Augustana wins opener Averett, Christopher Newport, Guilford, and Mary Washington all won on Tuesday where the action was centered in Virginia and North Carolina. In Florida, four late runs gave Augustana a 6-4 win over Bates
April 30, 2018 Fleming returns to Averett as head coach Averett officials announced Monday the hiring of Kenny Fleming as the new baseball head coach. Fleming returns to Averett after serving as an assistant coach at Division I Army West Point during the 2018 season.
