A nine-inning no-hitter in New England earned the NCBWA NCAA Div. III Pitcher of the Week award for games played April 15-21, while an 18 RBI week and a complete-game, two-hit shutout earned the Hitter and Rookie of the Week awards, respectively.
As teams get in their games before Easter Sunday, many looked at Friday for conference doubleheaders. Two teams getting out of conference were Shenandoah and Salisbury. The Salisbury Sea Gulls got the best of the Hornets with a 4-2 victory.
Shenandoah put up double digit runs as did Endicott, Johns Hopkins and Salisbury. Salve Regina could only manage a single run but their pitching made 1-0 a winning margin.

With most of their team back, top ranked Johns Hopkins is the favorite for the National Championship. You do not have to look far down the Top 25 to find the another Region 5 team. Salisbury is ranked second in the 2024 Preseason Top 25. Misericordia also brings back the core that propelled them to a DIII World Series appearance.
From a second place finish in 2023 and with much of the team back, Johns Hopkins opens the season as the preseason favorite in the 2024 Preseason D3baseball.com/NCBWA Top 25. Also getting first place nods are Endicott, Lynchburg, Salisbury and UW-La Crosse.
