With a No. 24 ranking, Southwestern (Texas) earns their first ever ranking in the D3baseball.com/NCBWA Top 25. At the top, the three highest ranked teams maintained their position in week 7 of the Top 25. The Top 25 is the longest continually published poll and debuted in 2010.

Reigning SCAC Pitcher of the Week Austin Smith followed his dominant performance against No. 4 Trinity University with his first no-hitter of the season to defeat the University of Dallas Crusaders 15-0 in seven innings.
Southwestern officials announced J.C. Bunch as the Pirates' head baseball coach. Bunch arrives in Georgetown following 11 seasons as assistant coach at SCAC rival Trinity. Since 2015, he also served as the recruiting coordinator for the Tigers.
