A Look At The Griffins
- Fontbonne is coming off a 1-2 stint down in Mississippi against Belhaven.
- The team batted .253 over the weekend and were led by Matt Manint going 4-for-10 with a double and two RBI.
- Daniel Youngblood tied Manint in the RBI department, while Lane Smith is batting .333 and collected two stolen bases.
- On the bump, the staff compiled a 7.89 ERA and struck out 12 batters in 21.2 innings of work.
- Ryan Howell, who missed last year due to injury, picked up the lone win after going 6.0 innings, allowing four runs (two earned) and sat down three.
A Look At The Cornell College Rams
- The Rams hit the diamond for the first time in 2020 on Friday against Greenville.
- Cornell is coming off a 26-19 2019 campaign and advanced to the NCAA Regional after winning the Midwest Conference.
- The team batted .294 last season and they're led by Cale Jamesson in 2020 after he totaled a .365 average, 61 hits, 34 runs scored, seven homers, and a team-high 50 RBI.
- John-Michael Osley also returns after batting .317, to go along with his 59 hits, 44 runs scored, 20 RBI, and 12 stolen bases.
- On the mound, reliever Adam Tvedt is back after owning a 2.41 ERA in 20 appearances out of the pen. Another arm out of the pen to keep an eye out for is Hunter Davis with his 3.28 EREA in 22 appearances.
A Look At the Nebraska Wesleyan Prairie Wolves
- The Prairie Wolves finished 10-25 last season and 8-15 in the American Rivers Conference.
- The team batted .274 at the dish and leading the way will be junior Derek Kolbush after he batted .354, totaling 46 hits, 21 runs scored, four homers, and 32 RBI.
- Sophomore Kaleb Knox looks to build off his .298 average as a freshman, while Riley Ward hit .278 and was second on the team with 27 RBI.
- The pitching staff compiled an 8.11 ERA in 2019.
- Josh Seifert returns after leading out of the pen with a 2.19 ERA in 12 appearances. Hayden Parker leads the starters after going 2-3 with a 6.08 ERA and striking out a team-high 30 batters.
