MADISON, N.J. – The Fairleigh Dickinson University-Florham Department of Athletics has named Jamie Quinn as the next Head Baseball Coach.

I am eager to build the Devils baseball program into a MAC championship contender, while developing high character student-athletes who will be positive influences on society. I look forward to serving the FDU-Florham community!"

He joins the Devils after serving as the Recruiting Coordinator and the 17-under Development Coach at ZONED Baseball Academy since September 2015. Quinn was tasked with leading the recruiting process and college placement for five high school aged teams, while also coordinating the Team Camp Days and Recruiting Showcases.
Additionally, Quinn has been with the Orleans Firebirds of the Cape Cod Baseball League for each of the last three summers. With the Firebirds, he is an Assistant Coach working primarily with the pitchers and catchers. In 2017, Quinn's pitching staff led the entire Cape League in ERA, WHIP, Batting Average Against, Shutouts, and Strikeouts. That season he mentored three pitchers that were Major League Baseball First Round Draft Picks (Logan Gilbert to the Seattle Mariners at pick 14, Ryan Rolison to the Colorado Rockies at pick 22, and Daniel Lynch to the Kansas City Royals at Pick 34).
Quinn also served as the Head Coach of the Shelter Island Bucks of the Hamptons Collegiate Baseball League in 2015. The Bucks led the HCBL in hits, runs and runs batted in, while Quinn had players claim Player and Pitcher of the Year accolades. His team set the HCBL record when they notched 31 victories en route to Shelter Island's first HCBL Championship. Quinn was the top assistant coach at the United States Merchant Marine Academy from 2013 until 2015, leading the Mariners to a share of the Landmark Conference Regular Season Championship in 2013. Part of the Coaching Staff of the Year in the Landmark, Quinn helped develop the 2013 Landmark Player of the Year.
During the offseason, Quinn was the Minor League Video Coordinator and Catching Instructor for the Hillsboro Hops, a Short Season Single-A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2013 and 2014. In this role, he instructed the catchers while helping break down hitting and pitching video, working alongside former Major Leaguers Mark Grace, Doug Drabek, and J.R. House. The Hops claimed the First and Second Half titles in 2014, en route to the 2014 Northwest League Championship.
Jamie was the Second Assistant, Catching & Bullpen Coach at Hofstra University in 2012. During that time, Hofstra set the single season wins record (34) & had a Colonial Athletic Association tournament appearance in 2012. Two players signed free agent contracts with the Washington Nationals, while two players were drafted within the first 10 rounds of the MLB Draft. Danny Poma was taken in the 10th round by the Arizona Diamondbacks, while Bryan Verbitsky was a third round choice of the San Diego Padres.
He was the Volunteer Assistant, Catching & Bullpen Coach at LIU Brooklyn in 2011. During that time, LIU had the single season wins record (28) & had a Northeast Conference tournament appearance, while the staff earned Coaching Staff of the Year in the NEC. The bullpen staff led NEC in Saves & set the single season Saves record (13). He also coached a Johnny Bench Award semi-finalist catcher, in Tyler Jones, who was signed by the Seattle Mariners. Another player, Justin Topa, was selected in the 17th round in the MLB draft, by the Pittsburgh Pirates. Quinn began his coaching career at Queens College, serving as the Second Assistant from September 2008 through September 2010. As the Third Base Coach and Hitting & Catching Coach, he was in charge of offense preparation and in-game strategy along with catcher's instruction.
He entered into the world of professional baseball, when he was the Bullpen Coach and Catcher for the Long Island Ducks for four years. In his first season with the Ducks, he worked under the guidance of Major League Baseball Hall of Famer and 1986 New York Mets World Series Champion, the late Gary Carter. Quinn helped lead the bullpen to an Atlantic League leading 44 Saves in 2011 while advancing to the Championship Series, before winning the ATL Championship in 2012.
Quinn earned his Bachelors of Science degree from Queens College in 2008, and earned a Masters in Coaching Education and Athlete Development from Xavier University in 2017.
