a score of 5-4, while Keuka captured a 10-4 decision
in the nightcap.

Buena Vista jumped out to an early 5-1 lead on Tuesday morning against St. John's, and then held off a Johnnies rally in the ninth that saw the winning run left at second, as the Beavers held on for a 5-4 victory to close out their spring trip to the desert. St. John's put runners at second and third with two outs after a pair of walks and a wild pitch, but junior Bryce Rheault worked out of the jam by getting a groundout to shortstop for the game's final out and secure his first career save. 

New Jersey City scored the go-ahead run in the top of the ninth after tying the game with two runs in the fifth and got strong pitching from senior right-handed pitcher Fernando Guerrero and rookie closer John Pudder in a come-from-behind 3-2 road win against Moravian. The win was the fifth straight for the Gothic Knights. Tom Pulcine went 2-for-3 with one RBI and a walk to lead NJCU which won despite collecting just five hits.

Pitt-Greensburg broke out of its early season funk on offense, posting 24 runs on 29 hits in a doubleheader sweep of Chatham, in the season-opener at Bobcat Park.  Pitt-Greensburg won the opening game of the afternoon 6-5 in 11 innings and pounded out 15 hits in the 18-6 victory in game two. The 18 runs and 15 hits are both season-highs for Pitt-Greensburg in 2019. The Bobcats also got solid pitching from Abdi Rodriguez-Polanco and Dakota McWilliams in game one, as well as Mikey Sullivan in game two. Rodriguez-Polanco tossed five solid innings in the first game of the day, allowing just six hits and added a strikeout, while McWilliams scattered four hits over five strong innings in relief. Andy Prentice was brought on in the 11th and did not allow a hit and struck out one to earn his first win of the season.I Mikey Sullivan allowed just six hits in 5.1 innings of work and struck out three to earn his first win of the season.

Freshman outfielder Kyle Forcini drove in the game-winning run with one out in the bottom of the 10th inning as Montclair State rallied for an 8-7 victory over Manhattanville in its home opener at Yogi Berra Stadium on Tuesday afternoon. Senior Nick Martinez went 5-for-5 with three RBI including a home run as the Red Hawks (5-4) won their second straight contest. Jack Matero had a home run and two RBI for the Valiants (4-5).

Errors in the early season can have a multiplying effect. Fortunately for Johnson & Wales, visiting Rhode Island College made more miscues than the Wildcats. The Wildcats won their home opener, 5-4. Dane DellaValle closed out the game out and picked up his first collegiate save. Junior Tom Doran threw a career-high 6.1 innings with six strikeouts to record the victory.

Maryville pushed across the game-winning run in the 11th inning to defeat Calvin 4-3 on MC's Scotland Yard. The Scots earned the walk-off victory in the 11th when Ian Campbell drew a one-out walk and stole second base. With a pair of outs on the scoreboard, Campbell stole third base on a low curveball and the Calvin catcher promptly threw the ball into left field to allow Campbell to scamper home with the winning run. Maryville had an eight-hit offensive attack led by Eric Hart's 2-for-5, 1 RBI evening.

Capital stepped onto the grass at Clowson Field for the first time in a competitive game against Wittenberg and used the home-field advantage to sweep the Tigers. Capital took the first game 4-2 and then came from behind to complete the sweep with a 6-5 win. With the wins, Capital improved to 4-8 overall this season and will face its first Ohio Athletic Conference foe this upcoming Saturday.

Nationally 19th-ranked Piedmont scored five unanswered runs over the sixth and seventh innings to erase a four-run deficit and the Lions defeated 25th-ranked Cortland, 5-4, in a non-league matchup. Cortland falls to 7-7-1, with six of its losses at the hands of teams currently ranked in the D3baseball.com national top 25. Piedmont improved to 17-6 with the victory. Cortland pitching allowed only three hits and struck out 12 batters but issued 10 walks. The Red Dragons finished with nine hits but only walked twice and struck out 11 times.  Joe Tardif  went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI and James Varian was 1-for-2 with a hit-by-pitch for Cortland. Ryan Flansburg started and allowed one hit and five walks with three strikeouts in two and two thirds innings. 

Pomona-Pitzer came back from a seven-run deficit and defeated non-conference opponent Puget Sound 9-8 at Alumni Field. With the win, the Sagehens improve to 12-3 overall. The Sagehens were led by junior Jeremy Jess and first-year Lincoln Pantell who each went 3-5 in the win. The Sagehen bullpen put out strong outings in the seventh, eighth and ninth innings from sophomore Brett Super, junior Trevor Walker and junior Lukka Green to hang on for the win as Green notched his second save on the year.

Bluffton held off Albion 4-3, in the 2019 home opener at Memorial Field. Bluffton improved to 6-7 on the season, while Albion dropped below .500 at 4-5 overall. Sherbourne went 2-of-3 and scored two runs. Lemanski and Strayer drove in two runs apiece. Senior Dante D'Andrea improved to 2-1 after allowing one run on three hits in three innings of work. Freshman Carson Curnutte was outstanding in his three innings on the hill, fanning four with no walks while allowing just one Briton hit.

Rose-Hulman sophomore right fielder Harris Camp threw out the potential tying run at the plate to end a dramatic matchup, as the Fightin' Engineers knocked off previously 13-1 Fontbonne 11-10 at Art Nehf Field. Rose-Hulman led 11-8 after eight innings, and the visiting Griffins rallied to close within 11-10 with two outs in the ninth.  Jackson Penrod lined a single into right field, and pinch runner Gunnison Heine attempted to score the tying run.  Camp made a strong throw to catcher Shane Garner, who applied the game ending tag to secure the victory. The game ending play made a winner of relief pitcher Stone Brogan, who tossed 2.1 scoreless innings with four strikeouts.  Matthew Rouse allowed no earned runs in 4.2 innings of work, Quintin Bynum tossed a scsoreless eighth, and Adam Taylor picked up the final two outs to lead the Rose-Hulman pitching effort.
