No. 20 Salisbury returned home on Saturday to host No. 15 Oswego State in a doubleheader matchup between two nationally-ranked programs. The Sea Gulls were victorious on the day, sweeping both contests 3-1 and 9-2, respectively. Clayton Dwyer (2-1) was able to finish the contest on the mound, tossing 110 total pitches and striking out 10 batters for his first complete game performance as a Sea Gull. Cameron Hyder and Jimmy Adkins hit doubles in game two where everyone contributed in the lineup to complete the sweep.
Senior Nicholas Browne drove in junior Jake Oliger with the go-ahead run in the top of the eighth inning as No. 18 Babson defeated No. 3 Trinity (Texas), 6-5, in the second game of a three-game series. Babson, which dropped the opener 6-1 on Friday night, improves to 1-1, while Trinity is now 7-3 on the year. Senior Connor Gill went 3-for-5 with a double and an RBI and classmate Edward Lehr went 2-for-5 with a double and drove in a pair of runs for the Beavers. Oliger also drove in a run in support of junior Michael Nocchi, who struck out a career high seven and allowed just one earned run over 6.2 innings. Sophomore Jordy Allard earned his first career win and senior Max Tannenbaum picked up the save for the Green and White.
Nationally 10th-ranked Cortland split two games during the first day of the Baltimore Invitational, hosted by Johns Hopkins. The Red Dragons scored three in the top of the eighth and defeated Rutgers-Camden, 4-3, but relinquished a 4-0 lead to the host Blue Jays after a six-run bottom of the fifth and lost, 7-5. Cortland (3-3-1) and Johns Hopkins (4-1) will meet again Sunday to conclude the tournament. JHU defeated Rutgers-Camden, 7-3, prior to its win over Cortland.
No. 23-ranked Franklin closed out their opening weekend series with the Albion Britons, using some late-game heroics in the opener to secure a series victory. Sam Claycamp's two run double in the eighth inning of the opening game ended up being the go-ahead runs as Franklin (2-1) rallied for a 7-6 win. Game two saw the Britons (1-2) pound out 12 hits off Franklin pitching on their way to a 12-2 victory, avoiding the series sweep. Claycamp finished the day as the team's leading run producer, knocking home three runs. Brandt Pawley collected six hits from the leadoff spot and Drew Naumovich belted his first home run of the year on Saturday.
No. 25 Piedmont posted a pair of wins 5-2 and 8-4 over Pfeiffer. The Lions are 4-0 in conference play and on a nine game win streak. Sam Carpenter picked up the win in game one tossing seven innings with 13 strikeouts and allowed only four hits. The 13 strikeouts for Carpenter marked a new career-high for the junior and tied the mark for second-best in the NCAA era for a single game. Piedmont took the lead early, but a two-run homerun in the sixth inning tied the game at two. The Lions answered back with three runs on two hits in the seventh inning and left the bases loaded after three pitching changes for the Falcons in the inning. The Lions stormed out of the gate in game two with four runs over the first two innings and claimed an 8-0 lead in the sixth inning. The Falcons fought back in the final three innings but were unable to complete the comeback.

Looking to rebound after a ninth inning loss last night, Concordia Chicago responded in a big way today. They used six runs over the first four innings of game one to cruise to a 10-2 win over UW-Platteville to open the day. They then closed the weekend scoring 15 runs over the last four innings, including nine in the ninth to comeback and defeat Spalding 17-9.
Strong pitching led W&J to a doubleheader sweep of #19 La Roche in the season-opening doubleheader at Ross Memorial Park. The Presidents posted a 4-0 shutout victory over the Redhawks in game one before recording a narrow 4-3 win in the nightcap. The Presidents' pitching staff blanked La Roche in 15 of 16 innings during the doubleheader en route to a pair of victories.
The 7th-ranked Christopher Newport Captains remained undefeated with another stellar performance, defeating Marietta (0-2) by a final score of 11-5 in non-conference action. The Captains bullpen tossed four perfect innings of relief to close out the win by Teddy Herbert (2-0) while the offense smacked three home runs and scored in double figures for the fifth time in seven games this year. Playing Marietta in the second game of a split doubleheader, the Captains improved to 7-0 while the Pioneers dropped both games, including the opener 8-3 to No. 4 Randolph-Macon College. The Captains pitching staff sandwiched a five-run fifth inning with four zeroes on either side while holding down the Marietta offense throughout the contest. Herbert gave up just a pair of singles in the first four innings while notching a pair of strikeouts. He retired eight straight batters before heading into the fifth inning already staked to a 7-0 lead.
No. 14 Misericordia opened its Spring Break trip with a sweep of Heidelberg and Otterbein, in Port Charlotte, FL. Ian McCole tossed seven shutout innings as the Cougars beat Heidelberg, 7-0, in the opener. Kenny Jarema had two hits and two RBI and Sean Lyons had two hits and drove in three runs. In game two Kyle Rogalski struck out two in relief and Isaac Snyder added a scoreless inning of work. Against Otterbein, Jarema and Parker Abate had three hits each and Steve Weisensee had two hits and drove in three runs. Kyle Lennon added three RBI to make a winner of Tom Jacob, who struck out six over six innings without allowing an earned run.
No. 24 Berry dropped a doubleheader at Hendrix, falling to 0-2 in SAA play. Berry is now 7-5 overall. Hendrix improved to 10-2 overall. A pair of five run innings, in the final inning of game one and the opening inning of game two gave the Warriors nine wins in their last ten games.
