Methodist downed 13th-ranked and host Huntingdon College, 8-3, Saturday afternoon in USA South Athletic Conference play. The victory comes on the heel of the 17th-ranked Monarchs tough defeat to the Hawks Friday evening, with a third game in the series to played Sunday to break the draw. The offensive production for Methodist came largely from the outfield. Outfielders Clay Richardson, Rob Wilkerson, and Elliot Manley combined for seven hits, four runs scored, and three RBIs.

The Captains improved to 15-2 overall and 4-0 in Capital Athletic Conference play after the win and will return to action for a twin bill against the Seahawks on Sunday. The Captains have scored in double figures in four of those six wins, including Saturday's 19-hit showing on the road in conference play.
