| North Central clinched its record-tying fifth-straight CCIW baseball title following a 9-2 win at Wheaton on Friday. Coupled with Carroll's win at home over Augustana on Friday, the Cardinals (26-9, 16-4) claimed the outright title and will host the 2019 CCIW Baseball Tournament May 9-11. After more than 29 hours, that included two multi-hour delays Louisiana College finally completed their first game of the Blue Bracket in the American Southwest Conference Tournament. The Wildcats were down 8-1 before the game was called on Thursday and moved to San Angelo, Texas, where Texas-Dallas would pick up where they left off offensively to win the game 11-2 sending LC to the losers' bracket. The Wildcats bounced back with a 8-4 win over top seeded Howard Payne. Howard Payne found themselves in an elimination game after losing to LeTourneau 11-3. LC will play the loser of the Texas-Dallas and LeTourneau game for a spot in the bracket title tilt. In the Red Bracket, Hardin-Simmons eliminated Sul Ross State 10-8.

| Paul Sirakowski pitched a complete game (9 IP, 2ER, 2 R, 2 BB, 8 K) and the Bearcats totaled 10 hits for a 4-2 win against the College of Staten Island on Friday afternoon at the CSI Baseball Complex. Due to an afternoon downpour, the game started an hour later, but when it did the Bearcats quickly scored first and held on to win to start the championship series on a positive note. Christopher Newport and Penn State Harrisburg won twice on Friday. CNU eliminated York 8-1 and were 19-7 winners over Mary Washington. The Eagles will need to defeat CNU twice on Saturday to advance. Top ranked Salisbury split on the day, eliminating Southern Virginia 6-2 and falling to PS-Harrisburg 5-0. The Lions have the edge over Salisbury and need to win one game Saturday to advance to the final CAC series next weekend.
Alvernia (27-13-2) scored on a walk-off wild pitch in the bottom of the 11th on Friday afternoon to take the 2-1 win over Widener (18-23-1) and advance to the championship game of the 2019 MAC Baseball Championship. In a game that would turn into a pitcher's duel, Alvernia's only two runs of the game came off a bases loaded walk to tie the game at 1-1, and a wild pitch to end it. Alvernia will play the winner of Widener and Arcadia in a game that was suspended and will be finished on Saturday. Top seeded Hood was eliminated when they lost to Arcadia 9-2.
Junior outfielder Ryan Duphorn had four hits and six RBI, while junior third baseman Mike Nickles had five hits and four RBI as the top-seeded Randolph-Macon baseball team swept a doubleheader from eighth-seeded Eastern Mennonite Friday afternoon in the first round of the ODAC Tournament to advance to the second round next weekend in Salem, Va. Virginia Wesleyan and Roanoke also scored opening day wins as the Series between Shenandoah and Hapden-Sydney is scheduled for a Saturday start.
Top seeds Western New England and Roger Williams earned wins on Friday in the CCC Tournament. In the only elimination game of the day Zack Smith's solo homer to lead of the bottom of the sixth sparked a six-run inning for the Salve Regina as it defeated Gordon 8-2, eliminating the Scots, and advancing to the next round of the tournament.
Junior John Poccia pitched six strong innings and fellow junior Austin Kroeger a scoreless three frames leading DeSales past Manhattanville, 7-2, in the opening game of the MAC Freedom postseason tournament on Friday evening. The Bulldogs advance into the winner's bracket where DSU will take on Misericordia. The top seeded Cougars defeated King's (Pa.) 6-1 in the opening contest.

As the regular season enters the final weekend, No. 1 ranked Concordia Chicago headed to Carrol Stream today to take on No. 19 ranked Webster University. With the wind blowing in all day, pitching controlled the day from start to finish. CUC took the opener 1-0 behind a complete game effort by Adam Gregory. The Cougars got the tying run to third late in game two but were unable to capitalize, falling 2-1 to split the final non-conference series of the season.
The #1 seeded Husson Eagles (24-14) defeated the #4 seeded University of Maine at Farmington Beavers (12-22) by the final score of 10-1 in Game One of the 2019 North Atlantic Conference Tournament on The Harold Alfond Diamond at the Dr. John W. Winkin Sports Complex on Friday Morning. Husson starter Brandon Brunell (4-0) went 5.1 innings to earn the win, allowing six hits, one earned run, with two strikeouts and a pair of walks. Ben Bernier, Jacob Gauvin, and Nolan Dousa combined to throw 3.1 scoreless innings of relief, allowing just one hit and punching out four. They will play Northern Vermont - Lyndon. NW-Lyndon pounded out 14 hits and received a dominant pitching performance from Jake Jourdain in defeating Thomas, 10-4, in the opening round of the North Atlantic Conference Tournament. Thomas (12-23) will face fourth seeded University of Maine at Farmington in an elimination game.
Junior David Larson hit a three-run homer in the bottom of the first and struck out 11 over eight innings to help second-seeded WPI defeat third-seeded and No. 7 Babson, 5-1, in the opening game of the NEWMAC Tournament on Friday afternoon at the New England Baseball Complex. Two-time defending NEWMAC Tournament champions Babson suffered their first conference playoff loss since 2016 and dip to 30-6 on the year, while WPI improves to 23-14 overall. In the opening game MIT defeated Wheaton (Mass.) 10-8.
TCNJ remained the only team without a loss after the second day in the NJAC Tournament. The Lions earned the 4-2 victory over Kean with timely offense and strong pitching from starter Peter Nielsen. Fifth-seeded William Paterson's (25-15, 10-8 NJAC) NJAC Tournament run came to an end May 3 after a 7-0 loss to top-seeded and No. 5/4 Rowan (30-9, 14-4 NJAC). Ramapo defeated Rutgers Newark 3-2.
No. 16 ranked UW-Whitewater clinched at least a share of its third consecutive Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference regular season championship Friday with two victories over UW-Stevens Point at Prucha Field at James B. Miller Stadium. The Warhawks (28-9 overall, 19-3 WIAC) have now won 19 conference regular season titles, second-most in league history, and six in the last seven years. UW-Whitewater edged the Pointers (14-22, 6-16) by a 7-6 margin in the opener before walking off in the eighth inning of the second game with a 13-2 triumph
Texas Lutheran Bulldogs defeated Southwestern 4-2 in the 2019 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship opener behind the record-setting 33rd career victory for senior right-hander Nathan Malinovsky. Malinovsky set the new TLU and SCAC career wins records at 33. Against the Pirates, Malinovsky tossed 8-1/3 innings and struck out six to improve to 6-3 in 2019. Malinovsky, a two-time All-American and two-time SCAC Pitcher of the Year, moved past TLU's Ron Churchman and Brad Orosey for the school record. Malinovsky went past Doug Garner of Millsaps (Miss.) for the conference record. The Bulldogs rallied in the eighth inning to put Malinovsky in front. TLU scratched across three runs in the eighth against the likely 2019 SCAC Pitcher of the Year Austin Smith. TLU will play Trinity (Texas) who earned a 7-6 win over Centenary (La.).

| Gwynedd Mercy went 2-0 in their Atlantic East Baseball Tournament Pod defeating Neumann, 9-5, and Marymount, 6-2, on Friday. The Saints used a 12-11 extra-inning win that knocked the Knights out of the postseason. Dave Tatoian added another career milestone in the win, as the senior collected his 200th hit. Occidental is headed to the four-team SCIAC Postseason Tournament. Nolan McCarthy was back to his dominant self, Oxy had great timely hitting with two outs and the Tigers beat Redlands 5-1 on Senior Day in their last regular-season home game of the year. Oxy currently sits in third with a one-game lead and the head-to-head tiebreaker over No. 4 Cal Lutheran, and trails La Verne for the No. 2 spot by a game with two games to play. The Tigers can clinch the No. 3 seed with any win tomorrow or Cal Lutheran loss. Oxy would lose out on the tiebreaker with La Verne so the only way the Tigers get the No. 2 and a home game next Friday is if Oxy wins out and La Verne loses out.

After suffering a ninth-inning 8-11 loss to sixth-seeded Wesley Friday afternoon to begin the pool play round of the Atlantic East Conference Tournament, fourth-seeded Immaculata kept its conference championship hopes alive with a resounding, 28-5 victory over top-seeded Cabrini behind nine home runs and a complete-game effort on the mound from senior Billy Manzo. Richard Fontanillas set a program record with three home runs and eight runs batted in in the offensive onslaught and totaled four home runs and nine RBI between the two games. Senior Tom Prato homered three times Friday, including two against Cabrini. Cabrin defeatd Wesley 13-2 to open the bracket that saw all three teams end the day 1-1.
Senior Day 2019 had a little bit of everything for the New Jersey City University baseball team. Senior ace Fernando Guerrero struck out 10 batters in an abbreviated relief role—one for every senior being honored. Senior Mike Albunia pulled off the elusive defensive cycle, playing all nine positions during a nine-inning game. And two Gothic Knights homered. NJCU wrapped up its 2019 season, defeating a very good New York University squad, 12-3, on May 3 at the Thomas M. Gerrity Athletic Complex. NJCU ends its 2019 season with a 16-22 ledger, winning its final two games. NYU fell to 25-12 with its three-game winning streak ending. NJCU led 5-0 after two innings and clutching a 6-3 lead after seven, put up six more runs while batting around in the eighth.
Senior Mohammed Hussein struck out 14 in a complete game shutout to lift Keystone past Clarks Summit 4-0 in CSAC action. Hussein enjoyed 6 1/3 perfect innings before the Defenders reached on an error. The senior's no-hit bid was ruined in the bottom of the seventh but the righty responded and struck out three in the eighth. The Giants improve to 20-13 (12-1 CSAC) and will host Clarks Summit in a doubleheader tomorrow at 12 p.m. at Mathewson Field for Senior Day. The Defenders fall to 7-24 (3-10 CSAC). Hussein earned his fourth win of the spring and allowed only two hits and walked one, forcing seven flyouts and five groundouts. At the plate, he helped his own cause by going 1-for-4 with an RBI single to left in the sixth.
