GRAND CHUTE, Wis. - Randolph-Macon and Swarthmore staved off elimination at the Division III World Series, while Oswego State and Wooster were sent home. UT-Tyler and Concordia-Chicago are sitting pretty at 2-0 and will be fresh on Sunday, playing someone who is facing elimination in its second game of the day.

That's where we stand after two days at the 2018 Division III World Series.

On Sunday, despite what you might have read elsewhere, Randolph-Macon and Misericordia meet in an elimination game to open the day. The winner of that game faces Texas-Tyler in the day's third game, slated for 4:30 p.m. CT. Texas Lutheran and Swarthmore face off in an elimination game scheduled to begin at 1:15 p.m. CT, with the winner facing Concordia-Chicago in the final game, slotted at 7:45 p.m. CT.

UTT and CUC need just one win to advance to the Division III baseball championship series. If either of them lose on Sunday, the rematch will take place on Monday.

Randolph-Macon jumped out early on Oswego State, putting up three runs in the first and two in the second en route to an early 5-0 lead. Then, after the Lakers got back into it, the Yellow Jackets and starter Nick Roth shut things down the rest of the way, en route to an 11-4 win. It meant the second consecutive two-and-out finish for Oswego State at the D-III World Series. 

UT-Tyler had a big day on offense as well. Meanwhile, Ryan Cheatham came within two outs of giving UTT its second complete game in two days, going eight and one-third innings for the win as the Patriots defeated Misercordia 7-3.  The first inning included a fantastic play on defense, as Tanner Roach sprinted back and made a leaping catch at the wall, robbing Tyler Holzapfel of extra bases. Misericordia leadoff hitter Kenny Jarema left second base early and was doubled off, squashing an early threat.

Concordia-Chicago finished off the night with an 8-3 win vs. Texas Lutheran. Dylan Drgac entered the day at 11-1 with a 2.69 ERA for Texas Lutheran, but the Cougars touched him up for four runs in the third. Even though the Bulldogs pushed a couple of runs across to cut the lead to 6-3 in the fifth, CUC added a run in the six and seventh and All-America reliever Mike Formella came in to shut the door with three innings of shutout relief, extending his school record with his 15th save of the season.
