Thiel drops rubber match to W&J

WASHINGTON, Pa. – The Thiel College baseball team fell 9-2 on the road to the Washington & Jefferson Presidents in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game Sunday afternoon.

Dan Koller, Daniel Patrice and Nick Fowkes all had multi-hit days for the Tomcats, each collecting two hits in the contest.

The Tomcats scored all of their runs in the third inning. Matt Elko brought Patrice home on a RBI single up the middle for the Tomcats first run of the game. Koller knocked in the other run of the game on a fielding error by the third baseman that allowed Fowkes to cross the plate.

Riley Schwertz pitched 6.1 innings for the Tomcats while Tanner Teconchuk pitched 1.2 innings in relief.

The Tomcats (19-9, 8-4 PAC) will return home on Tuesday, April 19 when they face the Geneva Golden Tornadoes in a PAC doubleheader. The first game will begin at 2 p.m. at Tomcat Park.
