March 6, 2024 D3baseball.com Team of the Week Jackson Teer set a new conference standard for strikeouts and earned a spot on the D3baseball.com Team of the Week. CNU's Brandon Cassedy also had a record day and joined Teer as a starting pitcher
March 6, 2024 Jones, Cassedy, Landrum honored with NCBWA honors A five-homer week, a 16-strikeout performance over eight shutout innings, and a four-hit shutout earned the Hitter, Pitcher, and Rookie of the Week honors from the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Div. III Committee for games played February 26 through March 3.
February 16, 2024 CNU gets pitching, walkoff on a busy Friday CNU pitchers struck out 19 Pacers as they opened their season with a walk-off win in extra innings over William Peace. The NWC was the offensive leaders as Whitworth scored 18 and George Fox got 20 as both opened their seasons with thunder.
May 20, 2023 Nationally-Ranked CNU Baseball Advances to NCAA Regional Final Behind Historic 18-3 Win Over TCNJ WINCHESTER, Va. -- Behind a gutsy pitching performance by junior Jack Braley (5-1) and a patient approach at the plate, the nationally-ranked Christopher Newport baseball team surged into the 2023 NCAA Winchester, Va. Regional Championship after a dominant 18-3 win over TCNJ (24-23) on Saturday evening. The Captains set a new program record for runs scored in an NCAA Tournament game and will return to the Regional Final for the second straight year.  Braley struck out eight, tying his career high and marking the most in a postseason game in over 20 years for the Captains. Most impressively, Braley did it over 6.1 innings of work after being forced into the game due to an injury with two outs in the bottom of the first inning.

May 3, 2023 Alec Reilly's Gargantuan Grand Slam Highlights 8-2 CNU Baseball Win Over No. 2 Salisbury in Regular Season Finale NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- Avenging a 6-5 walk-off loss on Saturday to second-ranked Salisbury University, the nationally-ranked Christopher Newport baseball team rebounded with a dominant 8-2 win against the Sea Gulls (28-5) on Wednesday afternoon. The Captains improved to 31-8 behind a sparkling pitching performance by senior Dylan Weber and a pair of mammoth home runs from seniors Justin Bowers and Alec Reilly.

April 23, 2023 Nationally-Ranked CNU Baseball Captures 30th Win After 5-2 Victory at Mary Washington Sunday TYSONS, Va. -- Playing at Capital One Park in Northern Virginia, the nationally-ranked Christopher Newport baseball team earned a weekend sweep over Mary Washington (26-12, 0-3) in Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference action and picked up the program's 30th win of the season. The Captains downed Mary Washington, 5-2, and are now 30-7, reaching the 30-win plateau for just the seventh time in program history.  All seven 30-win campaigns for the CNU baseball team have come under head coach John Harvell, who collected his 600th career victory earlier this season. In all six of the previous 30-win seasons, the Captains advanced to NCAA Tournament play including three Division III World Series appearances. This season, the Captains reached 30 wins in just 37 games, tying for the second fastest mark since 2012 when the top-ranked CNU squad started the year 30-6. In 2019, CNU was 30-5 and in 2011 the Captains opened the year with 30 wins in a program record 33 games.
