The Franklin & Marshall baseball team (1-8) gets set for its home opener against York (Pa.) (3-4) Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. 

Last Week

F&M dropped a midweek game at Messiah, 9-6, Thursday afternoon. The Diplomats scored three runs in the final two innings, but the Falcons early scoring proved to be too much to overcome. Spencer Berson and Matt Hollender ended the day with two hits each. Berson and Drew Butera each tallied two RBI in the contest. Read the full recap here.

Franklin & Marshall competed in the Roanoke Round-Robin over the weekend, dropping three games. F&M lost to Roanoke and Marietta on Saturday before falling to Brockport on Sunday. 

Last Time vs. York

The Spartans slipped past the Diplomats, 7-4, in their last meeting in 2019. York scored four runs in the fifth and two runs in the eighth inning to edge F&M in the contest. Kelsey Launi '20 led F&M in hits with two. Will Samuel '22 drove in two RBI, while Justin Cavegn '20 and Dan Marano '19 each tallied one RBI in the game. Jonathan Pesantez '20 got the start on the mound for Franklin & Marshall, striking out six and giving up one earned run in 4.2 innings of work. Read the full recap here. 

York Team Preview

York comes into Tuesday's game after getting swept in three games by No. 13 Lynchburg over the weekend. Third baseman Brendan Martin leads the Spartans in batting average, hitting .393. Second baseman Gabe Trevena leads the team in slugging (.667) and home runs (two) so far this season. Pitcher Yandel Tolentino has a 2.35 ERA with four strikeouts in 7.2 innings of relief. In two starts on the mound, Zach Reed leads the team in strikeouts (11) in 12. 1 innings of work this year.
