Riverdale, N.Y. – College of Mount Saint Vincent Director of Athletics and Recreation John 'Jay' Butler has announced that Paul LaMarr has stepped down from his position of Head Baseball Coach. LaMarr led the Dolphins starting in the 2012 season and hands off the program to former player and assistant coach Vinny Todino.

LaMarr, who will be relocating out of the New York Metropolitan Area with his wife Vanessa and daughter Samantha, took over the Mount Saint Vincent program prior to the 2012 season and immediately made his mark, guiding the Dolphins to a 1-0 win over then #3 Kean in his first game as a head coach. Over his three years at the helm of the baseball program, LaMarr led the Mount to two trips to the Skyline Conference Tournament and 38 victories overall.

"CMSV would like to thank Coach Paul LaMarr for his three years of committed service to the College," stated Butler. "We wish Paul and his family all the best as they pursue other opportunities out of the Tri-State area."

Butler added, "Coach Lamarr established an excellent coaching staff over his time at the Mount and we are excited to appoint assistant coach Vincent Todino as our new head baseball coach."

Over the course of his three seasons in Riverdale, LaMarr mentored some of the most decorated players in program history. In 2012, Josh Sharpe was made a Second Team All-Skyline Conference selection as well as a D3Baseball.com Second Team All-New York Region Selection and a Third Team ABCA/Rawlings All-New York pick. Sharpe added an ABCA/Ralwings Gold Glove Award at the end of the same season.

Sharpe went on to sign with the Long Island Collegians of the Atlantic Baseball League following the 2012 campaign and played the summer of 2013 with the Staunton Braves of the Valley League. Following the conclusion of his summer with the Braves, Sharpe earned the organization's John Lancaster Memorial Award for the player who gives his best both on and off the field during the summer season.

Also following the 2012 season, Jason Rivera was made a Second Team All-Skyline Conference selection and after three years under LaMarr graduated as the program's all-time leader in hit by pitch. In 2013, LaMarr mentored Keith Schroeher who recorded the longest single-season hitting streak, hitting safely in 21 straight games as a freshman.

Under LaMarr's watch, the Mount Saint Vincent baseball program was recognized with three All-Skyline Conference selections as well as seven Skyline Conference weekly awards. Off the field, LaMarr had 17 student-athletes named to the Skyline Conference Academic Honor Roll.

"It has truly been an honor to be the head baseball coach at CMSV. For the past three years, I've been fortunate to coach a group of great young men and it's been a joy to watch them develop. This program has given me a lifetime of amazing memories and so, while my wife and I are ecstatic about beginning this next chapter of our lives, I will thoroughly miss CMSV and all the individuals who put on the Dolphin uniform," said LaMarr.

LaMarr will hand off the program to Vinny Todino who started his playing career with the Dolphins in 2008, a year that saw the Mount advance to the championship round of the Skyline Conference Tournament. As a player Todino ranks tied for eighth all-time in stolen bases with 29 and his 106 games played rank him tied for 10th in program history. He holds the single game record for hits, posting six safeties against NYU-Poly on Mar. 20, 2011.

"Vinny is a special person, who I've been lucky enough to have as both a player and an assistant coach," said LaMarr. "He has all the qualities you look for in a great leader and I'm very confident he will take this program to the next level."

Todino takes over a program that posted 15 wins a season ago and made a return trip to the Skyline Conference Tournament. The Dolphins set the program standard in stolen bases (96) in 2014 and lowered its team earned run average by nearly five runs.

"I am grateful to have this opportunity," stated Todino. "The College, and especially the baseball program, has been like a second family to me these past seven years. So many have helped me during my time here as a student-athlete and I'm happy to be in a position to do the same. Paul has been a great mentor for myself and so many others. His stamp will be left on this program for many years. We wish him and his family the best. There's a special group of guys here this year and we know they are capable of doing great things in the classroom and on the field. We are ready to get to work and take this program to the next level."

Upon Todino's promotion Butler stated, "Coach Todino is a DOLPHIN through and through and we look forward to his leadership and vision for the program. Vinny was an excellent student-athlete while at CMSV and I believe he will serve as a great mentor to all of our young men."

Todino announced that current assistant coaches Greg Conway and Jose Martinez will remain on staff for the upcoming 2015 season.
