A gutty performance by Steven Volpe lifted The College of New Jersey to a 10-6 victory over Kean in the second round of the New Jersey Athletic Conference championship tournament. The second-seeded Lions advance to the third round of the tournament, while the Cougars have been eliminated from the conference tourney. TCNJ will either play Rowan or Montclair State on Saturday, depending on the game between the Profs and William Paterson, which was halted 7-7 in the 13th inning due to darkness. Ramapo rode the pitching of CJ Growney to a 5-3 win over Montclair State in the day's third game.

Luis Ortiz picked up three RBIs, and scoring two runs, on a 2-for-4 day as the Fitchburg State Falcons defeated the Framingham State Rams, 8-5, in the Massachusetts State Athletic Conference tournament at Riccards Field. IN other MASCAC action Westfield State won 1-0 over Bridgewater State on a errant pitch that allowed the Owl runner on third to score the only run of the game.
Freshman Zach Smith went 3-for-5 with two RBI for the Seahawks, as Salve Regina defeated Nichols 8-3 in the Commonwealth Coast Conference Playoffs at the Nichols Baseball Field. Senior right-handed pitcher David Cherry struck out nine batters in his fifth complete game performance of the season, leading the top-seeded Western New England to a 3-2 victory over sixth-seeded Curry. Endicott exploded for 27 hits to defeat Gordon 28-4. The Gulls broke school records for at-bats (53), runs scored, hits (27), RBIs (24), and total bases (41) in the lopsided win.
Senior Brandon Lubrano struck out six batters in seven innings of work as the fourth-seeded St. Joseph's (L.I.) bounced fifth-seeded Mount St. Mary 6-1 in Skyline Conference first round action at home. With the win, the Golden Eagles advance to the double-elimination championship round of the tournament, which opens on Saturday morning.
Carter Burns saved his best start of the season for the Centennial Conference Tournament. After allowing a leadoff double, the senior captain was nearly unhittable as he only allowed one more hit until the ninth inning in Johns Hopkins' 6-1 victory over Gettysburg. With the victory the Jays advance to the winner's bracket final and will take on Haverford Saturday afternoon at Babb Field. Haverford was a 14-5 winner over McDaniel. The Green Terror will match up with Gettysburg Saturday afternoon.
Cornell's seniors certainly know how to leave a lasting mark in their final home games against nationally-ranked Grinnell at Ash Park Field. And now the Rams stand one win away from an elusive division championship. Brandon Davis' two-out single in the bottom of the 10th inning propelled the Rams in a 3-2 game one squeaker. Cornell fed off momentum and pounded the Pioneers in a record-setting 24-4 romp in the nightcap. The math is simple for the Rams: win one game in their doubleheader with No. 25 Grinnell and they claim their first South Division title since 1970. The Pioneers need a sweep to take their sixth division crown in seven years.
Fourth-seeded Stevenson opened the top of the sixth inning with six straight hits and scored five runs as the Mustangs upended top-seeded Alvernia 6-4 in the opening game of the 2016 MAC Commonwealth Championship at PeoplesBank Park. Alec Romanowski went the distance for Stevenson, scattering 10 hits and allowing three runs while striking out three and walking two, his 19th career victory, tying him with Gary Sanders for the program victory record. Widener defeated Messiah 10-8 in the evening game.

Wheaton (Mass.) offense racked up 18 hits in a 10-1 rout of Eastern Connecticut State in a non-conference contest at Eastern Stadium. Senior Jordan Jenkins was credited with the win, the fourth of seven pitchers, after coming in in the fifth and pitching two flawless innings. The Lyon offense spotted the pitching staff an 8-0 lead after an inning and a half after Wheaton sent nine batters to the plate in its six run second inning.
Ripon will go into the final weekend of the regular season with their Midwest Conference Tournament hopes still alive. Needing to win at least one of two games to stay alive, the Red Hawks took the first 3-1, before dropping the nightcap 5-4. That means Ripon must win both games of Sunday's doubleheader at Beloit to qualify for the MWC Tournament for the fourth consecutive season.
Nick Eltzroth and Jordan Bostater led Ohio Northern as they split a twin-bill at Clowson Field in Columbus 0-4, 5-1. Eltzroth went 4-for-7 at the plate and added two runs for the Polar Bears offensively, while Bostater went 4-for-8 and added a run.
Rose-Hulman pounded out a season-high 22 hits and scored 11 runs in the middle three innings to defeat Franklin 14-9 in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference action. Hazen Hamather had a career day with a 5-6 performance that included a home run, a bases loaded triple, seven RBIs and three runs scored. Hamather's five hits and seven RBIs in a game both ranks second in school history.
Otterbein split a critical home-and-home regional matchup with the Wooster this week, falling 11-3 at home before rebounding with an impressive 14-2 victory on the road today. The Cardinals will finish out the week at home with an Ohio Athletic Conference doubleheader against Muskingum. Otterbein currently sits one game back of Marietta as a potential OAC regular-season title could be on the line.
Defiance gave up the game-tying run in the bottom of the ninth, but came back two innings later with a pair of runs to come away with a 5-3 victory in 11 innings to begin a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference three-game series against Anderson.
Earlham clinched the final spot in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament with an 18-7 victory over Hanover. After two strikeouts to open to game, the Earlham offense came to life, opening a 13-2 lead after their at-bats in the fourth.
Middlebury and St. Joseph's (Vt.) locked up in a low-scoring game, as the Fighting Saints scored the game's only run for a 1-0 win over the Panthers. The lone run of the contest came in the home half of the second inning. Middlebury's threatened in the sixth and seventh innings but running errors kept Middlebury scoreless.
