Looking to rebound after a tough loss to Keystone yesterday, Concordia Chicago took on the Webster Gorloks Tuesday at St. Leo University. The Cougars and Gorloks resumed the game that was suspended at GCS on March 1 to open the day. CUC was able to scrape a run across in the top of the 12th of a game that was resumed in the top of the tenth to win 2-1. The Cougars then won a wild game two in which the Cougars would come up big in the 11th inning to down Webster 15-11.

After scoring 17 runs in its win over No. 16 Wooster on Monday, Haverford (4-4) erupted for 32 runs and 37 hits in a doubleheader sweep of Hiram (2-4) The Fords hit .487 as a team in the two contests, taking victories of 17-0 and 15-6 in a pair of seven inning contests. Will Karp hit an incredible .857 on the day, with three doubles, a triple, a home run and six RBI. Zach Landry mashed three homers and two doubles, racking up 10 RBI and scoring six runs. A total of 11 different Haverford players had multiple hits on the day.

In the 30th Annual Gene Cusic Collegiate Classic at the Lee County Player Development Complex, Defiance picked up two one-run wins over the Wisconsin Lutheran Warriors. Defiance won the opening game of the doubleheader, 3-2, before posting a 4-3 victory. In the first contest, the Warriors took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning before DC scored twice in the third and once in the fifth to establish a 3-1 advantage. WLC loaded the bases in the bottom of the fifth inning and had the tying run on second base in the seventh, but Defiance held on for the win. Wisconsin Lutheran put the tying run on third base in the nightcap and go-ahead run on second in the seventh inning, but Defiance was able to snuff out the rally for the twinbill sweep.

Junior right-hander Mason Shuffler surrendered just three earned runs over a career-high seven innings to lead Washington and Lee to a 10-4 win over Southern Virginia. W&L pulled away for good in the seventh inning with four runs, highlighted by a two-run single to right off the bat of Perkins. Junior catcher Jack Giardino then tacked on the final run with an RBI single in the bottom of the eighth. Shuffler (2-0) earned the win, as his four total runs allowed came on nine hits and two walks. He added six strikeouts to his line as well. Junior Peyton McCann worked the final two innings for the Blue and White, allowing no runs on one hit with two walks and a strikeout.

No. 15 ranked Marietta scored 10 runs in the final two innings to come from behind and defeat Pitt-Bradford by the score of 10-5 in the Snowbird Classic."Give credit to both starting pitchers. Dalton (Wiggins) held them to two hits through six innings and we only had three off of their guy," Marietta head coach Brian Brewer said. "Our guys did a nice job of staying with it after some things didn't go our way in the seventh. This was a nice comeback win against a quality opponent."

Stockton (8-3) finished up a stretch of five home games in four days with a convincing 13-2 victory over Eastern (6-4). Rico Viani drove in four runs while Ryan Swift scored five runs. Stockton scored all the runs they would need in the first inning for a quick 3-0 lead. RBI by Swift, John Perrino and Jay Marchese accounted for the markers.

Howard Payne defended the Don with a 14-6 victory over the visiting Beavers of Blackburn. The Howard Payne offense continued to put up runs this week, adding 14 in this contest, to gain a big boost of confidence. Derek Gifford and Jonathan McKay led the offense with three hits. McKay also led with three RBIs. JT Howard got the start and went 4 innings giving up three runs, one earned. Ty Garner got the win on the mound going 1.2 innings only allowing one hit.

Widener sent 13 batters to the plate in a nine-run fourth inning as the Pride overcame an early deficit to down the Neumann Knights 19-9 in a game halted after seven innings due to darkness. Four players had multi-hit games including three each from Bryce Fremgen and Stephen Posner. Noah Miller got the victory in relief as part of his collegiate debut. He went 3.1 scoreless innings, allowing three hits, striking out two.

Junior center fielder Steven DiGirolamo went 5-for-5 at the plate, including three extra-base hits, and senior shortstop Matt Ferrara delivered the winning run with a ninth-inning single as the William Paterson baseball team (7-1) capped off a seven-game homestand with 7-6 triumph against St. Joseph's-Long Island.

Mary Hardin-Baylor broke open a tie game in the final four innings and posted an 8-5 win over Texas-Dallas in non-conference action in Belton. The Cru improves to 6-8 on the season with the win while the loss drops the Comets to 11-5 on the year. Hunter Zolman had three extra-base hits and three RBI to lead the UMHB offense. Zeb McQuary also had three hits for the Cru. Cooper Nelson (1-1) picked up the win with five and a third innings of scoreless relief work.

Franklin & Marshall took down Elizabethtown by a 4-1 score on in non-conference competition on Caplan Field. The Diplomats won their third straight game and evened their season record to 4-4 on the year while the Blue Jays fell to 8-3. Starting pitch Kyle Roche (1-2) provided a clutch performance on the mound with seven strong innings to earn the win. He allowed just one earned on seven hits and struck out one batter. Elizabethtown had eight pitchers make an appearance on the day.

Penn State Altoona broke through for its first win of the season, when the Lions posted an 8-5 victory in a nine-inning game over RPI at Chain of Lakes Park Stadium. The Lions' (1-6) victory was highlighted by several key two-out hits, as well as a complete game pitching effort. In his first career start, Tyler Manger tossed a complete game to record his first win of the season. The right-hander pitched nine innings, holding RPI to five runs while striking out five and walking only one. Richard Carey went 4-for-5 at the plate with a double, two runs batted in, and two runs scored. His total of four hits ties for the seventh-most hits in a game by a player in Penn State Altoona baseball history.

Andrew Brock had a single-game program record seven RBIs and four doubles and Covenant scored over 20 runs for the second time in five games as the Scots routed visiting Iowa Wesleyan, 26-2. Covenant (11-4) has been supplying offense at a historic pace over the last week. The Scots have scored 77 runs in a five-game stretch going back to March 4 and have won three run-rule games during that time. The Scots are off to their best 15-game start to a season since 2013.

Catholic won its fourth-straight game in an 11-7 victory over Penn College at the Ripken Experience. The Cardinals (9-5) scored six runs in the second inning for a commanding lead, as four players notched at least two hits in the contest. Senior reliever Eric Moore earned his first win of the season, pitching 4.2 innings in relief. Fellow senior Chris Kelly started, throwing two scoreless innings.

Sophomore pitcher Matt Bergeron tossed a complete-game shutout to help Saint Joseph's (Maine) (4-7) defeat Endicott (4-5), 2-0, in a non-conference contest. Bergeron improves to 1-1 on the season after allowing six hits and a walk with five strikeouts in the dominant performance. The sophomore right-hander is the first SJC pitcher to toss a nine-inning shutout since former standout Chad Rafferty '13 hurled a complete-game gem in a 2-0 NCAA Regional Tournament victory over Bowdoin College on May 16th, 2012.

Freshman Tyler Horvat tossed eight shutout innings in his first collegiate start as the Washington & Jefferson shut out No. 6 Washington University by an 8-0 score. Horvat allowed just five hits in the eight shutout innings. The right-hander struck out four and walked just two. The Presidents used timely hitting, outstanding pitching and strong defense to pick up W&J's first win over a ranked opponent in 2020. The Red and Black plated all eight runs in the third, fourth and fifth innings and held WashU at bay the rest of the way. 

Texas Lutheran smashed four home runs, including three homers in a row, in a 16-3 home victory against DeSales (Pa.). TLU's Tyler Cauley, Tyler Post, and Spencer Brandt hit three consecutive home runs in the second inning. Cauley hit a two-run shot, and Post and Brandt followed with solo shots. Post added his second home run of the night with a solo blast in the sixth. For Cauley, the home run was his fifth of 2020 and the 28th of his career. He moved within three home runs of tying John Krog for third on TLU's all-time homer list.

A late sacrifice fly by Michael Pinarski broke a 5-5 tie in the eighth inning as Manchester battled from behind to earn a 6-5 victory at NAIA-power Taylor University. Senior Nick Rush earned his first victory on the hill for the Black and Gold. Rush (1-0) threw 4.0 scoreless innings, scattering five hits and striking out four. The Spartans (2-5) ended an early season five-game skid with the victory on Tuesday night. The Spartans will travel to Florida next week for their annual Spring Break trip.
