Beach earns 300th win for Brockport

AUBURNDALE, FL – SUNY Brockport Head Baseball Coach Justin Beach earned his 300th career win Tuesday night as the Golden Eagles (4-2) defeated the University of Maine Presque-isle Owls (1-6) by a score of 4-2 at the 2022 RussMatt Central Florida Invitational

Batting Highlights
Nicholas Pastore helped the Golden Eagles secure Coach Beach's 300th win as the centerfielder went 2-4 batting in the sixth spot. His two run home run gave him two RBIs and one run for the day. Tom Kretzler also managed to step up at the plate going 2-4 with a double Zach Harter also managed to record a double scoring twice in the game off one hit. Matt O'Dair and Ryan Mroczka were able to record hits as well.

Pitch Summery
Matt McGowan recorded started off his season going 7-innings allowing six hits, two runs, one earned run, five strikeouts. Adam Douglas (1-0) earned the win after coming in the top of the eighth with the game tied and pitched the final two innings giving up one hit and striking out two batters.

Scoring Summery
Trailing 2-0 in the bottom of the third, Tom Kretzler was able to single to right field which allowed shortstop Justin Pangburn to score off a throwing error from the Owls.

Still down 2-1 in the sixth, Zach Harter came into the game as a pinch hitter and managed to get a double at his first at bag of the game. With runner on second, Matt O'Dair singled to right which allowed Harter to score from second to tie the game up at 2-2.

Tied in the eighth with Zach Harter on base, Nicholas Pastore hit moon shot over the right field fence going deep for his first home run of the season driving in two RBIs to help the Golden Eagles take the 4-2 lead.

Following McGowan's Stellar seven innings on the mound, Adam (1-0) came into pitch for the first time this season and threw two scoreless innings to end the game giving Brockport the 4-2 win.

Steed Outler (1-2) threw all eight innings for the Owls as he gave up seven hits, four runs which were all earned and five strikeouts.

With Head Coach Justin Beach securing 300 career wins he will start his quest for 400 career wins tomorrow as the Golden Eagles take on Wisconsin-Superior in a double header at 3:15pm in Auburndale, FL at Lake Myrtle Field #2
